Typical. Bush talks about the country, Trump asks about "me!" (him).

Does Trump realize that partisanship is the only thing that saved his ass?

//I know, if the question starts with Does Trump realize, the answer is no

"He was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history!"

The impeached Asshole-in-Chief's promise to "Make America Great Again" is the greatest hoax in American history.

Don't ever forget: "Moscow" Mitch McConnell is as much to blame for the ocean of shiat you find yourself in. If he and the Senate gave a single tinkers damn about the constitution and the country, Donnie would have been out on his ass years ago.

I don't get it.

The ad is a positive message urging people to come together and help beat a common enemy, this COVID-19 coronavirus.

So why is Trump lashing out at George W Bush for it?

Why does Trump feel like it's an attack ad of some sort, that needs defending with a dose of rhetoric?

neongoats: Trump and his voters are the garbage of humanity.

This. Not just America, but humanity as a whole, taken in total. The worst, absolute worst of humanity, concentrated here and voting for Trump. Other cultures and subcultures around the globe might be infested with bigotry out of ignorance, misogyny out of tradition, or cruelty as a matter of survival, but only this subgroup has positively embraced and enthusiastically cheered for bigotry, misogyny, cruelty, and evil. They have embraced evil with a vigor not seen since the fall of the Third Reich. These are people who have repeatedly been educated, re-educated, informed, and re-informed about reality and science and common sense and just plain old goddamn human decency, have been shown the positive examples of Scandinavian and Continental social democracies, have been informed of the horrors of Naziism, of racism, of hate, of xenophobia, repeatedly, time and time again, they have been informed of this, through movies, stories, television, and so forth.

And these people have chosen to let the planet burn because they want to roll coal, they have chosen mass death because they don't want to be inconvenienced, they have chosen to embrace the bully, the con man, the vulgar, two-bit, cheap-suit-wearing, insecure, maggot-brained dimestore knockoff Mussolini who, if we are being honest, will have seen more Americans die needlessly on or because of his watch since and maybe including James Buchanan.

We could have been smart, we could have been like China, a much larger (but also much more pathologically authoritarian) country, who is now looking like they were the smart ones with 5000 dead (3 per million). Even if they are lying TENFOLD of that number, given the disparity in population, they are still way better than our current death toll. We could have been like South Korea, with 252 deaths, or 5 per million. We could have been Germany, who never really locked down fully but also has an amazing health care system, and ended up with 7000 deaths, or 82 per million.

Now 82 deaths for every million people may seem like a LOT, but understand that CURRENTLY, the American death toll is not 3 deaths per million people or 5 deaths per million people, or 82 deaths per million people, but is now at 3,590 deaths per million people, and that number is certain to climb.

Because instead of competent leadership, an age bracket, a gender (male), an ethnic group (white), an uneducated person, a religious nutjob, or some combination of the above decided to throw a collective tantrum because they couldn't say the N word anymore and hated every change that happened after 1959, when they had it good and safe because they haven't grown or developed or learned a goddamn thing since then.

What an attitude: if you're not publically, vocally, in support of me, you're partisan - ignoring the fact that being vocal in support of him is also a partisan act. And that a national pandemic is not an Impeachment fight. There really is no nuance to him. And he's pretty dumb, too.

Because dividing the country is his entire raison d'etre. It is literally what his supporters like about him. It is the reason they voted for him. It is what the Republican Party values. To have a former republican president call for unity is literally a betrayal of their only enduring value, that we as Americans are NOT all equal and we are NOT all deserving of salvation.

Trump is so incredibly stupid that he didn't see COVID as his path towards victory.  All he had to do was give America a common enemy - the virus and he'd have coasted into November.  But he couldn't even do that right.  And he's so warped in the head that a man simply stating that COVID is the real enemy was enough to push him further into the deep end.

Please check your numbers when they seem this far out of line. The actual death rate in the US attributed to COVID-19 is about 207 deaths per million people.  This number is still very high (much higher than it reasonably could have been) and still backs up the very good points you made.

You want to know why Georgie didn't support you during impeachment fat boy? Because you are FARKING GUILTY.

2020-05-04 8:26:49 AM
Let's dissect that tweet for a moment.

1. People are dying everyday due to the lack of an early response from the Federal level. That's not including reports that the Federal Government told the states to fend for themselves and when they did they would steal resources from the state be, hur hur, Federalism. Then we get reports of "I'd like you to do us a favor though" when it comes to resources being allocated to the states. These resources being minimal at best anyway.
2. People are dying and he made it about himself like he always does. He didn't even use GWB message against the Democrats in anyway. He is a feckless, weak, and selfish coward who is holding a grudge because he didn't get support from Bush during his impeachment.
3. It's utterly amazing how none of this phasing or changing him in any impactful way whatsoever. Any semblance of grief (if there is any) is fake as hell. There is self congratulations on a job well done when people are dying. Our economy is in shambles. And the only thing he can muster to care enough about is defending himself no matter what. In the face of a dying presidency and the end of the world he will only ever care about himself and always defend himself.
