I don't think the article is suggesting that Trump will acknowledge reality anytime soon, if ever.

It suggests that Trump is getting high on his own supply and actually thinks he is a strong leader doing a good job, and that he is mad that the polls and the press don't seem to reflect what he thinks is an awesome performance. He seems to be blaming his own team for that.

The upcoming election's currently expected results are unlikely to be accepted by this crazy person, and the apparatus of government better be prepared for some dangerous antics on his part if November turns out the way I think it is going to.

It's far too early to know who will win the 2020 presidential election,

... so he is going to just call it already:

but at the moment, President Donald Trump is losing.

Can we wait to celebrate until he actually loses and cedes power?

Dear God, please not this again...

Everyone claiming it is a foregone conclusion that Trump will lose, yadda yadda yadda.

Show me a poll, in a battleground state, where Biden is up 53%, not 6 points ahead when the total does not add up to 100%, but at 53% and I will start to feel better we will not have this catastrophe happen again. The fact is, that "silent" group who claims undecided are 90% Trumpers.

It almost seems as if there is a concerted group out there trying to convince people Trump is losing so people do not vote... again.

And if he loses officially (ie, in November) he will make sure to kill many more.

November through January are going to be the biggest shiatshow your country has ever faced.

He can almost start sending libs to camps for applied thinking and no one will do anything - hell he can just withold aid and get instant results that can be spun into success.

So no - no apparatus of government will be prepared to stand up to him.

If there was justice, Trump would finally have that moment of clarity were he see that for his entire life he has merely been tolerated.
No one, not his wives, not his children (its well established he has no friends) ever want to be in his presence.  He is just a useful tool to everyone around him.

I would hope as the federal agents are arresting him that he has that moment and at least a few years in a federal prison, penniless and forgotten to dwell on that before his dark master reclaims what passes for his soul.

Nadie_AZ: Can we wait to celebrate until he actually loses and cedes power?

An incumbent president is almost always rolling with a built-in advantage of like ten to fifteen points historically, just by virtue of being the incumbent and being a household name by nature.  This is why in modern politics when the 'baseline' partisan divide of the electorate is something like 55/45 at most the incumbent practically always wins and one-term presidents are considered the most epic of failures, with whatever happened during their term cast at least retroactively as a stunning catastrophe, even if that's not really fair (*coughcartercough*).

Or, at least, if an incumbent loses something farking weird as shiat is considered to have happened, e.g. Ross Perot playing spoiler (again, YMMV on how valid this assessment is, given that Perot got zero EC votes and the idea that he took more from Bush than Clinton is... somewhat arguable, let's say.)

So... the fact that this advantage of name recognition seems to not be happening, or perhaps is even actively working against Trump, is legitimately newsworthy, in the unusually literal sense of actually being new thing.

As TFA says, you can't actually call the election at this point, but they're not doing that.  They're pointing out a new and significant change in the state of the world.  Y'know, news.  Literally their one and only job.

2020-05-01 1:51:04 PM
At this point, anyone "undecided" is really just ashamed to admit they'll vote Trump.  If they're genuinely undecided at this point, don't trust their opinion on the best fast food french fries, let alone who should be president.

2020-05-01 1:51:12 PM
The best strategy for a Biden win is to tell the polls you're voting for Trump, so Biden and his team make efforts and Trump gets lazy.

Then come election day, you vote for Biden.

So much this.  My brother were just talking on Tuesday night about this very thing.  If Biden is supposed to be the one who's going to restore "sanity" or "competence" or "normalcy" to the presidency, the U.S., the people, etc., why is he barely polling above where HRC was 4 years ago?  He should be blowing Trump out of the water in double digits and he's not.

I love the fact that he was screaming at his own poll guy threatening to sue him for providing facts Trump doesn't like.

Love love love it.

2020-05-01 1:56:30 PM
Let's break down some facts.

In 2016 this was the national popular vote result:

Trump: 46.1%        Hillary: 48.2%

Let's take a look at the RCP average for Trump vs. Biden right now:

RCP Average

47.4 Biden
42.1 Trump
Biden +5.3

Biden is literally polling lower than what Hillary took in the general election when she lost 4 years ago. Granted, margin of error.

Now, my personal opinion, not facts.... We are missing 10.5% of the electorate who last time came out for Trump at least 2 to 1. (I said 90% before, maybe not that high). But, I do believe it is at least 2 to 1 and that means Trump gets 7, Biden 3.5. So the real poll (assuming no third party and idiots are gonna do it) Trump 49.1, Biden 50.9. A dead freaking heat.

No one should be lulled into the idea, even the inkling, that Trump will not win. He said it was an interesting idea, worthy of exploration, to inject disinfectant into the body to beat COVID and he did not lose a single point with his supporters. He has a firewall of infinite resilience.

So, the only option is for everyone who opposes him is to vote and then bring a friend with you. It will ALL come down to voter turnout in about 6 states. If Trump wins, he will do the exact same thing he did last time, eke out a win in a handful of states.

We are not even close to where we need to be to beat this narcissistic, grfiting, moron.

Same here my friend, same here.

I just don't know what I will do if we elect him again. I have lost so much faith and hope in and for this country over the last 4 years that I just am not sure what I will do.
