He's funny. I hope this is good. And now, for the rest of you, bring the Knights Who Say Ni quotes and the derision ...

I can only think of one way Marisa Tomei can save this movie.  Well, ok, two ways.

I feel bad for the last gal this guy dates because he has future Hollywood murder written all over him.

Maude Apatow, Judd Apatow's daughter, also stars in "The King of Staten Island" ...

Sounds like nepotism...

alongside Bel Powley,...

Doesn't sway me one way or another...

Marisa Tomei...

SOLD

This reminds me of when Russel Brand had a career and everyone was like "Russel Brand is funny!"

I don't think he's funny. <shrug>

Two ways would work. Or three ways if you know what I mean.

Did Seth Rogen produce? Because I think you'd have to smoke a helluva lot of weed to think this was going to make money.

So a movie no one would have seen in theaters became a movie no one will see on demand?

Nothing about the title of the movie or the lead actor is appealing to me

FTFA: "The King of Staten Island" - a semi-autobiographical comedy starring Pete Davidson and directed by Judd Apatow - is hitting video on demand, making it the latest film to forgo a traditional theatrical release as cinemas remain closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Yeah, that's probably why.

The smart money is on an overdose in a cheap hotel bathroom.

I think in either case we'd hope for the opposite I just remember reading really weird shiat about Julia Roberts's daughter.

He's like a younger, taller, less funny Jerry Lewis who's drugged up and owes you money but still wants to sleep on your couch.

I didn't think this guy would make a movie about Staten Island.

At one point, Davidson asks, "Am I still going to get an Oscar?"

Good point.  Will the Academy waive the rules this year?

Not gonna see it, and if there's a setting to never suggest material with him in it in the future I'll be sure toggle to ON.

f*ck that guy

I'm honestly not sure sometimes if he's funny or just familiar and thus entertaining.

He's a very... New York person?  I had a lot of exposure to the city as a teenager visiting family and then again later as an adult traveling for work.  There's something about him that reminds me of people I knew from the city and that he plays well into the tropes of city people.

He's niche, but "people who think New Yorkers are entertaining" is a broad niche, I suppose.

He's coming into his own on the new stay-at-home edition of SNL.
I like him.

I could never stand him. Not his comedy, not his "serious talk", not his movies.

Bill Burr is in it so that's a plus.

I watched his recent Netflix special. There were a couple pretty funny bits he had, but his delivery and stage presence was awful. And that's  all they were, bits. It didn't seem to have a coherent theme or message.

I've seen him a bit on Wild 'n Out and SNL, so I expected it to be pretty good. I was disappointed, but I'm not writing him off.

When do we get to toss this guy in the has-been pit with Tom Green and Chris Elliott?  Does he really get a full 15 minutes?

Yeah, I don't know much about him. But his stuff on the home shows has been really good.
