Well, nobody was interested in the thread last week, but I got a bunch of clicks and gave away another free month of TF. So if this greens, I'll happily be your lightning rod of indifference, FARK!

Tin Soldier is free to read, you can start from the New Readers' Page or the very beginning. Picture if you left your collection of Full Metal Alchemist too near an absurdist slice of life comedy like Ouran High School Host Club and they had a mutant baby.

In light of FARK's falling ad revenue, I'm offering free subscriptions to people who leave a comment and link me to their profile back here. I have to OK your comments for them to show up, it keeps the spam down, but I do see them when I log in. Of course, if you're one of a couple of binge readers I picked up last week and you don't need any TF, you could always comment here too. I'll check back. Any of my TF give away budget that I have left at the end of the month will be donated to help keep FARK alive, which you can also help do by clicking "sponsor Drew" in the sidebar there.

This week, we check back in with the kids and see how the resident tyke bomb is doing since she set Hyacinth on fire.

Give Tin Soldier a click and you'll see Maggie say: "This is One Big Toothpick, Erik!"

I'm Eric cheats at tangrams? Now that is real breaking news.

Like father, like son.

I wonder how that 25 piece puzzle they gave him for Christmas 2017 is going? He must be finishing the borders by now.

I haven't had Firefox since college so my familiarity is lacking, but since I can load the site and others can too, you might try this stuff: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can

I remember I had a similar problem trying to access the webcomic Wondermark and it turned out to be an overcorrection from my security plugin, which I disabled, and then I could access the site just fine. There are some other suggestions in that link there.

Wrong Erik. This is a better version. Come to think of it I also have a better alternative Milo and Ann.

Probably my laptop. Though it won't load on my Kindle, either. Wonder if it could be my router?

Is it your same version of Firefox on the Kindle? If so, I would suspect an extension or a cookie. If it's like that across browsers and machines, I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm at HostGator and while they did have a recent unplanned outage they've been fine otherwise and I know I get an alert when there's an outage. (Could it be an issue with the WordPress format? I think the NY Post uses it too, if you want to check... and don't hate the Post too much to give it a click.)

This must be really frustrating. I'm sorry. You know, if you spot me your e-mail, I'll send you the Text Only version of the first 16 installments for Kindle for free. You can beta test. I don't have an actual physical Kindle myself since the charging port broke.

My Kindle uses Amazon's proprietary Silk as the browser, so the failure is across platforms.

You can send me the text-only to: glasspipetoolco[nospam-﹫-backwards]knilhtrae*net, though I think that would lose a lot of the flavor.

Hey! An alternative might be to publish it on Fark! Like I am doing with The Voyage of the New Beginning. Every time I update a new chapter, I just send an email to my mod contact and she "resets" the thread to the top of the Discussion tab.

That's a win for everyone: stuff for Farkers to read without having to go through what I am sure is the agony of clicking on outside links, ad-click revenue for Fark, and exposure for you.

You would just post them as images into each message you posted. And Farkers could leave comments.

Send a message to the mods to see if they will go along with it. (I've suggested to them that they could, at exceptionally minimal cost, set up a "Writing" or "Content" tab for this, which would be a diversification that just might save Fark*, but so far no feedback.)

* Old saying from my Navy years: "No balls, no blue chips." If in doubt, diversify. And "take your eggs out of just one basket." It might even make some waves on the Internet.

I've read that Silk has a tendency to gank itself and it works faster if you turn off the acceleration, but that is odd that it's not working across platforms. I have to wonder if there's some security feature of your ISP that doesn't like me. Nevertheless, I've sent you a text only edition of 1-16 that should work on Kindle. You can decide based on that if it's worth investigating what's not working!

Publishing everything on FARK would be impractical just because of the amount, but next week I'll see about putting the latest installment in the thread. With little context I'll just have to ask people to accept that some of the people are weird colors and the school is under a railway bridge for whatever reason.
