payattention: A reminder for everyone who goes near one of these 'protests'... nice, clear images and video please. We really, really, really need to remember who these nuts are. And, when the oligarchal regime is removed in January, we really, really, really, really, really need to remember who these nuts are.

/assuming they survive their lunacy
//Of course, some will just due to good health and luck and will deny it was ever a real thing
///those people should be taken to Brother Island with the virus, and allow it to run rampant, and see how they fare...
////I swear Hammurabi had it right...

There was a fark story this week about a guy at the Richmond (I think) protest getting doxxed and fired from his job.

jso2897: CrackHeadMatt: jso2897: This isn't about work - it's about wanting to go to the bar, and the hairdresser, and the Home depot for lawn gnomes.

Sad thing is the only thing on that list that is closed in AZ is the bars... kinda.

If the bar also has a food licence (many do) they are selling to go drinks in soda cups.   I have never seen more open container violations in my life, and nothing bad is happening.   Hopefully this will lead to the disposal of a bunch of stupid laws left over from prohibition days.

Well, it would be crazy to arrest anyone for anything less than serious crimes right now - what are you going to do, jam a bunch of people into a jail?
That's not going to help, at all.

There are metro areas where perpetrators aren't being arrested for serious crimes - like strangling a domestic partner. Bullshiat is about to be reopened, but police lobbies remain closed to the public. But yeah let's reopen the damned bars, beauty parlors, tattoo shops, a ...

You know what? I can't even think straight to compose a reply because the guy across the street has been making as much noise as humanly possible for HOURS. That sunuvabiatch has mowed, used a power weed eater, used a leaf blower, and now he's out there with a power washer washing every square inch of his driveway. His. driveway. That thing OUTSIDE that he parks cars on. He's cleaning like he intends to eat directly off of the driveway. I'm struggling not to snap.

So, we're easily going to pass 60k deaths this week and these people are whining about their freedoms because they've been asked to sacrifice for a while in order to save hundreds of thousands, if not millions of American lives.  Yet less than 3000 people died on 9/11 and these same people, guaranteed, were fully willing to round up brown people in the US, give up rights to privacy and liberty, turn other countries into "glass parking lots", and start two wars, costing trillions of dollars in order to supposedly feel a sense of security here at home.  IMHO, this proves that they were never interested in security, and certainly not the loss of life, they're just stupid, angry, selfish, racist little biatch-ass snowflakes who will lash out at anything they don't like.

"I wish she could be in my shoes for a day, I'd have her put on a pair of scrubs and walk with me," Leander said.

former Arizona state Sen. Dr. Kelli Ward

Presuming she's not a medical doctor? The head of the hospital should invite her to tour their facility. Where there are no fake healthcare workers and there are real patients.

Hell, I'd say give the protesters tours of the hospitals. Let them walk through and see the real patients and the real healthcare workers, then they can walk out, and proclaim it's all a hoax that they saw firsthand. Problem is, they won't be quarantined and not only will they and their loved ones get sick because of their stupidity, they'll spread it to others in the community.

Even if it was feasible, it wouldn't work. These people are fanatics and conspiracy theorists. There is overwhelming evidence as to the extraordinary threat to life posed by this pandemic, yet they completely dismiss and disregard it. If they were to be given a tour they'd just claim it was a Potemkin hospital* and carry on with their destructive ignorance.

*Not in that term, of course. They're far too ignorant to use that terminology. They'd just yell FAKE NEWS because that's what the fat orange jobby taught them to say.

Don't Lag Me Bro: I would say at the next large gathering of protesters, hospitals should start dropping off body bags, with bodies in them, and see how long those protesters want to hang around.

That's usually considered desecration of remains, so I doubt they'd do something like that.

But the people protesting would be the same types that look at the pictures of the camps from WWII and say they're all staged, or not real.  So even if they had the dead piled in front of them, they'd still not believe that this virus is deadly.

If this hasn't already been suggested:

Anyone who "believes" either that the virus and disease are fake, over-exaggerated, or that they are somehow immune should be invited for a tour of the Covid-19 wards of their local hospital to meet the "patients" and determine for themselves if the quarantine is real.  Obviously they wont have any PPE during the visit, because it is in short supply, and handwashing is only for people who are afraid of the virus.  However once they have complete a full 1 hour tour of up-close observation and study of the patients, they will all be escorted to a large room together, where they will all wait for aout 2 hours, then get tested, and if any of them test positive, they will all be forcably quarantined in the nearest rec center/sports arena together for 2 weeks as the virus takes its course.

That is if any of these people actually believe that the virus isn't that bad.

2020-04-25 9:20:18 PM

DoBeDoBeLurk: *reads* Yep. Hero confirmed.

Now, I'm not thrilled that people on my side are just as willing to yell "fake person" as these deluded jackasses when they don't like what someone is saying.

These guys demanding we open up again come from the American underclass, and it is real. The are sick (or fat and unattractive, if that makes you feel better about yourself), ignorant, desperate, scared, and so insulated from reality that they don't know how to help themselves. They have been cultivated this way for the sake of political power by half of our two party system. And the other half can't work out whether to help them or pander to them. Pandering is way easier.

Our real American hero nurse makes a point of saying she'd help them, despite all the screaming and threats, because that's her job. As a nurse she's probably used to hurt people fighting her every step of the way. She is not a politician. For a politician, helping these people has a political cost, because they don't understand what real help looks like and they're terrified of it and they might vote for something else.

I don't know if they're ever going to wake up. Some of them do. Access to education and social services that allows them to stop flailing and lashing out would get more of them on our side and stop the others from being as much of a drain, but I don't know if we'll ever get all of them. Maybe their kids, or their kids' kids, because this has been going on a long time and a lot of these damaging systems are entrenched. But if we don't help them, we're gonna stay right where we are, for generation after generation.

For those of you paying attention, where we are is a bunch of sick people screaming at healthcare and government workers that they want to go back to work even if it kills them and the rest of us, because they don't know of any other way to survive. And they are waving American flags, because that's what they think this country stands for.

The only part of your post in dispute is whether these pro-pandemic protest organizers actually have grievances, or if they are being paid to do this.  The reason it's in dispute is this crowd looks an aweful lot like the Tea Party protestors during the Obama years, and the funding for those protests has been documented as coming from the Koch Brothers and other very rich Republican Assets.

There were way too many people doing the "copy paste" crap with a 10 paragraph list of BS claiming what people should be doing to help prevent the spread or whatever about the Corona, and one of the people commenting kept saying "The people are scared...".

NO! Someone who's scared doesn't generally get into people's faces and insult or belittle them.

That's like saying someone is a homophobe. They're not scared, they're just an asshole...

As far as peaceful?  They forced their way into a office building, made it to the elevator lobby but couldn't get anywhere because they shut down the elevators and they were all too fat for the stairs.

Good for the nurses who are on the front line while these fat farks who are at high risk of death to this go about and be asses.  I hope they get it, I hope they die alone.
