Most seccessionist movements start with the states.  Now we have the federal government saying "You're on your own.  GTFO."

Isn't Kentucky one of a handful of states that would collapse without the massive amounts of Government assistance it has been getting for years?  I'm just saying Mitch that you need to think before you speak.

I think the Turtle is just doing what the Turtle does: staking out an extremist starting negotiating position and then going from there. People forget the Turtle is good at the nitty-gritty of politics. He just has not ethics, morals, or shame.

I would be shocked if we don't see the states bailed out.

How's Kentucky doing these days?  Oh.  He doesn't care about Kentucky.  Them teachers didn't do them no good doing their teaching jerbs.

Here's a chilling fact. If all 4.3 million Kentuckians were asked to pitch in to fix the state's $36 billion public pension problem, every man, woman and child in the commonwealth would have to pay $8,268.

Better up that cause you know Turtle and Mrs Turtle wouldn't pay anything.  And that is the exact amount that is in the change jar in the laundry room.

McConnel doesn't care if the States go bankrupt, he doesn't care if people die, in fact it's preferable because those that are dying are mostly poor or elderly.

McConnel only cares about how much taxpayer money he can steal for himself and his corporate overlords. People think they understand that but they get confused when this philosophy interacts with humanity and mortality.

Let's put it this way, if there was a business that all they did was manufacture death, each moring a truck full of people are dropped off, slaughtered horrifically, and stuffed into refrigerator boxes, but they were a donor, he'd be lobbying to repeal legislation on the manufacturing of refrigerator boxes.

Given the choice between saving your life and $100 on a table, you're already dead.

oldernell: Didn't pete decide he's not running and going off to join the IRA?

Yeah, I think King isn't running for re-election, which makes him just like a bunch of other Republicans who didn't dare criticize Trump until they were heading out the door.

I don't know about joining the IRA.

Why are these big burly and financial strong blue staters worried about letting states go bankrupt.

Because they're not the contributors the Fark Pol tab would have you believe.

Farkers love to post stats that Virginia is a big leech state... that's bullshait as the number of federal work/workers is somehow calculated into that number. Unless they're saying all government agencies/workers are useless and should be closed/culled.

Not he or the GOP voters within the state care about their state. It's only about stigginit now. I'm sure that GOPers would happily throw themselves away if told to do so by their betters.

They ARE begging to be sent back to work so that they can die of COVID for the economy after all.

Considering his state was hit the hardest this has more to do with his reelection than it has to do with breaking with the party.

FTA: McConnell instead said that the states bore some responsibility for their debt due to "pension programs"

McConnell's statement is true. Retired persons could be culled instead of paid the pensions they have earned. If the states choose not to cull the elderly, that choice is on them.

Turtle Man wants to completely gut the retirement systems of state employees, and kill those unions as quick s he can.

And even though dumbass cops will vote GOP, they will not be exempt from the gutting of said retirement systems.

The message is perfectly consistent.

Those who give Mitch wealth and power get everything they ask for. Everyone else can suffer and die.
