Bees are very clean animals and honey is anti-microbial. Their are worse houseguests, depending on your pet peeves and allergies.

Assuming they can tell their hornets from their honeybees, they should be just fine.

Did they have the place inspected before moving in? Are they just a renter? Unless I missed it the article seems a bit vague, granted I'm at work so no vid watching for me.

Yeah - those bedroom-sized yellowjacket nests they find in the South would be really bad.
Asian giant hornets or bullet ants would be the worst.

I had a yellow jacket hive in my yard some years back.  I dressed head to toe in multiple layers of clothes, wore a face mask, taped all gaps, filled a Super Soaker with insecticide, then hit the hive after dark.  Little bastards never knew what hit them.

They own the house, they bought & moved in this past December, and the bees have only become active recently.

What could be worse to find in the house:  snakes and bees.

Snake eating bees.  Hipster snake eating bees.  Hipster snake eating bees that don't eat the snakes in the house.  I'll stop here.

The article is written by someone who knows nothing about bees. It's probably a swarm which moved in recently. Also, it's outside.
