Devs is such a good show, don't you dare spoil the finale till I watch it later!

I always try to show this picture of Danny DeVito to conservatives who quote Frank Reynolds to back up some point they're making:

And then I ask, "You do know that the character of Frank Reynolds is supposed to be a scumbag, right?"

It's why it's so hard to satirize the right.  They identify with what are supposed to be ironic portrayals.

It's been that way for ages. The character of Archie Bunker was meant to be a hyperbole of a sexist, bigoted fossil who laid bare the ridiculousness of those prejudices. You still still got groups of idiots buying "Archie Bunker for President" t-shirts and bumper stickers.

Looks good. Not in the mood right now, though. I will peek later.

Didn't we also run into this with the Colbert Report, and Archie Bunker? But these are the same farks who think "Born in the USA" is a patriotic anthem every election.

Can't wait to finish Devs tonight, amazing show and Offerman is killing it. Anything I read about him, or the short youtube interviews he does, or even just him sitting in front of a fire drinking whiskey for hours in a youtube video for the holiday season only increases my belief that he is an amazing and beautiful human being.

Been that way since Gone with the Wind

To the right, those aren't portrayals, those are role models.

Lord of the Highway: Confabulat: Devs is such a good show, don't you dare spoil the finale till I watch it later!

What an awesome finish. Having said that:
1. It could have been cut down to 4 episodes.
2. Way too many "staring into space to ethereal music"scenes.
3. Not a fan of the lead character (not sure if it was the actress or the writing) that was some weak sauce. Very hard to care for what happened to her.
4. Allison Pill has that Elizabeth Moss face thing that I find really off putting.

All that aside I managed to see it through to the end and feel it was worth it.

And he's ugly.

Is anyone surprised that he's just another liberal hollywood lefist, no. What you expect him to do Nick shut down government and send everyone home in february during impeachment hearings, with WHO saying its low transmission risk, and calling him racist for stopping chinese travel? Yeah that would have had CNN and MSNBC just cheering him on for doing the right thing, puhlease, you guys and your fake outrage just doesn't play anymore.

That's a lot of stupid and revisionism in one paragraph.

Give them credit, they're finally starting to deliver the stupid in a single trip so they're not wasting gas or spreading the virus w/ extra trips.

I like Nick Offerman, but I don't think he is especially funny. The writing for Ron Swanson was funny as hell. Plus. Ron Swanson was so likeable, you wanted to agree with him.

Trump recently compared himself to Captain Bligh.

He's also retweeted shops of himself as Thanos and the Night King.

See this is what we were talking about. Is this satire or how an actual right winger thinks? It's literally impossible to tell!

On point.  When Offerman lists all the "differences" that people should know between Nick Offerman and Ron Swanson, he needs to also include that the character of Swanson was actually, you know, funny.

Don't some liberal like to wear Che Guevara T-shirts in the same sort of way?
