We should be guarding our borders against you.

This. They're not fortifying the borders to keep people out. Soviet-style internal passports and exit visas are entirely possible. In spite of the incumbent POTUS clearly not colluding with any Soviet agents whatsoever.

If there was ever a time for a whole country's peoples to get together and create a new future, then I recon 2020 might be the time to do it - shiat it could happen online alone and it will alter the entire world.

I am having my 50th in June, it is going to be an online party, with private rooms where I can admit my sins and get textually whipped afterwards.

A couple dozen Canadian snipers combined with the enforcers from the various major-junior hockey leagues would be enough to stop pretty much any invading force in its tracks.

Thank you, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Americans in general.

Canuks really need to know we are safe right now. Also, Canadians were getting antsy. How close would the US military personnel come to a regrettable incident, on Trump's command.

That you chose to ignore the entire operation, rather than even risk merely looking like a threat, is cause for us to breathe a huge sigh of relief. Especially when the White House has diplomats stealing the medical supplies from us and from other NATO allies. If The Pentagon sent any materiel to the border, we would be beside ourselves with anxiety and ire - a bad combination during an emergency.

So, thank you, Joint Chiefs and thank you US military in general for being reasonable.

Well, we need to do something, dammit. The Canadians have been giving us the eye for decades now, envious of our wide variety of non-frozen foods, our ice-free harbors. They've been planning an invasion for who knows how long, and the very fact that no one knows about it just goes to prove how far along they are. Mark my words, any day now the Canadian navy, after a short portage from Winnipeg, will be paddling their fleet of war canoes down the Mississippi, hoping to capture New Orleans and gain access to the Gulf, splitting the US in two and forcing us to find alternate routes to that barbecue joint in St Louis. This is the perfect time, while all Americans are shut inside their homes, before the foreclosures and evictions start.

And boy howdy, there will be some real bargains in the housing market then.

Haters gonna hate.

Trudeau has been a breath of fresh air in this every day with his daily pressers. He has handled this situation admirably in dissuading fears while balancing it with optimistic caution.  Granted the bar is set pretty low when compared to the grand cheetolini.

I can't imagine most folks wanting to flee to the USA.
I'd be more concerned about the USA using it as a pretext to invade with how dumb things have been of late.

The American healthcare system is a nightmare, financially, a pandemic would be the worst time to go there. Imagine getting a cough and then being thousands of bucks in debt as a result.

In one particularly cruel episode, Canadians even exploited the trust of Germans who had apparently become accustomed to fraternizing with allied units [over no-man's land]. Lieutenant Louis Keene described the practice of lobbing tins of corned beef into a neighbouring German trench. When the Canadians started hearing happy shouts of "More! Give us more!" they then let loose with an armload of grenades.

Agreed. I'm Canadian. Truth be told, however, there are way more black mayors, county clerks, sheriff's, state representatives and even Congressmembers than do black Canadians in our local equivalent. Even in places like Toronto, Hamilton, Otrawa or Montreal. Granted, 13% of our population, nationally, is not black, far from it. America is often the Best and The Worst, simultaneously. It's weird.

The problem with Postmedia is that some of their biggest yawpers are people like Conrad Black and Rex Murphy. You know, the kind of people who write for the kind of people who like that kind of writing. The kind of people who mistake vocabulary size for intelligence. Like Fox, some of their sports writing is pretty good.

Rebel Media can be understood by looking at their advertisers target market, sort of an upscale Michelle Bachman, InfoWars type reader. They have also been pretty much defunded by people who stopped buying stuff from those advertisers, and by repeated losses in court under Canada's hate speech laws.

Same, except for the snow today. But seriously, I can see a lot of Americans coming north of the border for treatment because 1) We probably wont be nearly as overwhelmed as the American system is and will be. 2) The uninsured may get a bill from us, but it won't be bankruptcy-inducing.
