Just further evidence that the Democratic Deep State was in the bag for Biden and trying to undermine Sanders from the beginning!

Or some such nonsense.

This is bad news.

For Obama!

I don't know about you, but a former President supporting his former Vice President is clearly the highest form of corruption in the DNC.

Is the natural evolution of "Obama doesn't even like Biden and won't endorse him" going to be "Obama should have kept out of it and not influenced the election"

Is it possible to hold those two attitudes simultaneously?

First day on the politics tab? Is it possible to have to opinions that contradict each other that you will argue for? Of course it is. It is mandatory for some farkers.

George Orwell had some thoughts on this very subject.

I never understood this fuss. Former Democratic presidents do not get involved with primary elections. They wait until there's a clear nominee and throw their support behind that nominee. Otherwise they'd be seen as subverting the process.

Why is anyone making this out to be so strange? This is how it's always been and how it's supposed to be.

I honestly think a large part of, this specific case notwithstanding, is that there's a ton of dialogue and stray comments and navel gazing ends up being regarded as legitimate and sound reasoning.

Of course, then there are trolls spreading ridiculousness, too.  But we're lucky we don't have to worry about that around here.

the former president will soon make the case for Biden that Biden has had trouble making himself.

That sums up Biden pretty nicely.

Honest question because I actually don't know the answer; are there any candidates for anything that Obama has endorsed that have won? Google gives me the lists of people who endorsed him, but I'm at a loss to find those he's endorsed.

How many more votes did he get than Bernie?

Reasonable people don't need Obama to make a case for Joe.  Reasonable people don't need Joe to kiss their ass to vote for him.  Reasonable people want Trump out at any cost and would have even voted for Bernie Sanders himself if that's what they had to do to make that happen.

/Thank God we don't.

Actually we have him making the case for some vice president who hasn't even been announced yet, since Joe will very likely either keel over of natural causes or become too riddled with dimentia to lead.

I'm still voting blue, but I'm not happy not knowing who will actually be president for the term. And having zero choice about who it is. Behold my endless font of enthusiasm! Irrational exuberance!

That what we're doing here now? Straw manning in headlines so we can sprain our arms patting ourselves on the back?

Right right that narrative that Obama wasn't going to endorse Biden. Big time narrative, got a lot of attention, all the best people were saying it, lots of people have told me that was a totally real narrative that existed before it was made up today to polish the Biden turd.

I like that Obama has followed the former president tradition of mostly staying out of politics. I'm really going to be missing that tradition after Trump loses.
