It's just our way of saying "Buy yourself something nice, doll-face" to the clinic's reception staff.

That's what you're on the hook for after the insurance company decides how little your survival is worth.

/ If they're dropping price on this, they're just going to gouge on something else

I like the nice poison pill, "does not apply to Medicaid/Medicare/government insurance", that they put in there. They're trying to poison the well even when they are doing a good deed in a general sense.

farkers better look out for the French haircut of they think they can keep universal healthcare out of reach in America.

Drug lobbyists and laws that allow them to screw over the common folk. You know American capitalism.

Co-pay is what the insurance company has you pay the health care provider, and they should cover the rest, but you are still on the hook until they do (or don't).

Earlier this year, I needed a root canal and crown. My co-pay plus what insurance wouldn't cover was $780 and $900, respectively. A month and a half later, I get another bill for $300 because it is what insurance would not cover.

In a nutshell, 'Murican insurance is a scam.

My bad, I worded that poorly. The extra bill for $300 was additional stuff that insurance wouldn't cover, that my provider thought they would.

...because that us how ambiguous all of this is.
