Um...how does that work, exactly?

"Hi. I'm Troy McClure. You might remember me from such existences as "life" and "earth". Have you been considering who might be responsible for your untimely death and departure from the living? Have you been asking yourself "why did I drink aquarium cleaner?" or "was it not smart of me to lick the toilet at the hospital?" You haven't? Well, you should."

"The Daily Show" posted this video of Fox News' top stars

This was my first time hearing Trashy Lahren's voice and I get it that Fox News Grandpas like her because they think she's pretty, but they must be watching her on mute because that is one of the worst voices I've ever heard.

I actually had to sign a waiver once that would allow me to drive myself to the ER, so that "If you die on the way, you won't come back and sue us"...My response:  "Say that again...but slowly..."

I'm still waiting for Fox to be sued by the families of victims from the mass anti-immigrant shootings.

February?  Hell, we've got political officials across this country encouraging this sort of behavior now.

Hold them all to account.

The problem with suing them is you'd need evidence that things like social distancing actually work for improving mortality during pandemics.

computer models and St. Louis/Philadelphia in 1918 don't count as evidence.

IIRC they have always hidden behind the "opinion show" figleaf for most of their programming.

Technically it was a Fox affiliate, and not Fox News. But the idea still holds.

I know...and it scares me that these morons think they're "More American" because they disregard the lives, health and welfare of their neighbors, because 'maw rights!'

- The inferior person whines about his/her 'rights'
- The superior person discusses his/her 'responsibilities or duties'.

It's Asimov's Cult of Ignorance writ large.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Isn't this criminal? I mean, if you have a network that knowingly and intentionally broadcasts information causing people to behave in such a way that they are put them in danger (or even die), that network should bear accountability.

Hint: by and large, right wingers want to be rid of the sick, the destitute, the elderly pensioners. those with per-existing conditions, the vulnerable, the un or underinsured.  This virus is their eugenics wet dream, so is it any wonder they spent so much money and energy downplaying things. They needed time to ensure their willing dupes would spread it around like the plague rats they are.

Yes, in fact they are officially listed as an entertainment channel with the FCC, not as a news organization.

I suggest showing the dates. First one is 2/2 so in early February, following Trump's advice. I can't find a dated copy of the second image.

Marcus Aurelius: A lot of FOX News viewers aren't completely stupid.  They're just seething with hared and intolerance.

"The compass always points back to whatever feeds the boundless sense of outrage and aggrievement"

That's from Rick Wilson's latest column on The Daily Beast and it paints a bulls-eye on the modern Republican party.

Used to be.  Republicans quashed that with 'deregulation'...cause 'gubmint is always bad'  Basically they made it legal for them to lie...but keep trying to sue others for telling the truth about themselves, because "he/she proved we was just as awful as they was sayin'...."

2020-04-07 10:11:40 AM
It's just utterly bizarre to me that Fox lied about this.  If you're going to lie, why not say that Trump heroically defended the nation despite Democratic meddling?  Why lie about the severity of the problem?  All it will do is blow up in your face when the catastrophe hits.  There is literally no benefit to it.
