Every package/bit of mail coming into my house goes on top of the dog crate for 4 days before I open it, then I wash my hands.  That way any virus on the cardboard, packing material, documentation, plastic tape, and everything inside has time to die before I open it.

Amazon would be wise to have a quarantine warehouses for incoming shipments themselves, that way their employees at least aren't touching infected products.  They employees could still catch it in their personal lives and from each other of course, and infect products going out the door, but an extra four days wait on shipping isn't going to bother me.

Gotta think that Bezos is going to plow millions and millions into accelerating the "all robot warehouse" moonshot after this.

How safe is uv light disinfection? I thought it produced dangerous ozone

As an aside, it's prudent at this point to treat anything coming into your home as already contaminated, and follow sterile technique to handle and disinfect it. If you have family members in high-risk groups living with you, or if you have regular or close contact with people in high-risk groups, it's not merely prudent, but necessary.

Hope not since they're fairly common in HVAC.
