But yesterday he said he was going to listen to the experts.

Sorry, talking about old shiat.

A recent article encapsulated it perfectly, Trump wants to play president, he doesn't want to BE president. A reporter asked him yesterday if he could give reassurances that N.Y. will get it's respirators and he said No, they should have gotten them themselves (or something to that effect).

Anyone looking for steady leadership or reassurance in this president, will not find it.

WASHINGTON - Rarely has the schism between President Trump and his own public health advisers over the coronavirus pandemic been put on display quite so starkly. Even as he announced a new federal recommendation on Friday that Americans wear masks when out in public, he immediately disavowed it: "I am choosing not to do it."

He's not gonna wear a mask because when he removes it, the orange make-up will be even more obvious.

Also: Rarely has the schism between President Trump and his own public health advisers anyone with a brain over the coronavirus pandemic been put on display quite so starkly even more obvious.

In the last presser, Mike "the ass kisser" Pence made a point of praising Trump's great leadership for agreeing to a few policy recommendations from the Coronavirus Task Force. Pence further noted the committee was unanimous in their recommendations.

Imagine the leadership skills involved in agreeing with unanimous recommendations. At least some of them..

He is not capable of listening to them. They are not him, do he does not have the attention span. He is him, so he wouldn't be able to understand what they're saying even if he was capable of paying attention to it. Leaving those two things aside, even if he could listen to and understand what they said, he does not have the ability to hold a thought in his head. He would almost immediately return to insulting people for no farking reason.

I have one, too. All the crackpot shiat. But she's a holy roller, so this is just evidence that Jeebus is coming back tomorrow, or something. Until then, it's all screw the liberals, brown people, and poors, all the time.

This person was blown away that I could spot-identify Eurasian landforms in a video from the ISS, because I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe things outside America even exist.

Yet, a lot of my PTSD surrounding religion (and various aspects of meatspace) came from when she told 11-year-old me (and my younger brothers) that God's coming back and he's going to melt the Earth.

Trump makes his own reality, and when his reality begins to clash with someone else's, like the entire world's reality, he tries to take over their reality, but at its heart he's a little b*tch and if you push against him most of the time he'll roll on you and try to co-opt your reality while retaining his own in his mind. Sure he might fire you, but that's only because he's threatened by you.

This is just a long way of saying he's a f*cking punk b*tch and he should never have become president.

When a virus struck the region of Wuhan
He had months to tell us all beware
But he listened to an oaf
Proclaimed it all a hoax
He left the nation unprepared

Toss some scorn to your Twitcher
O nation of plenty
O nation of plenty

As New York piled up the body bags
On his TV ratings he did brag
As grimmer grew the outlook
He proudly claimed number one on Facebook
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this guy

Toss some scorn to your Twitcher
O nation of plenty
O nation of plenty

It should have been apparent from the start
Grifting was his only one true art
Nepotism was the game
He gave his son in law the reins
His incompetence is a threat to humanity
So November give him the boot

Toss some scorn to your Twitcher
O nation of plenty
O nation of plenty

If he listened to the experts, that means he's no longer in control of the narrative, and, being a sociopath, he can't allow that to happen.  So, his opinion must matter more than expert consensus.

How he's managed to avoid COVID, given the number of folks who have tested positive and have been near him (or shook his hand, etc.), amazes me.  The entire Cabinet should be toes up at this point.

The rise of the current GOP came with the discovery that Hate is a foundation value and it will be held past the bitter end. This is the discovery that Trump based his famous "shoot someone on 5th avenue" boast. He personalized it, of course, but he's the goon du jour.

That's why there's no hesitation to lie. No worry about contradictions. If your foundation value is Hate it just doesn't matter.

There's a secondary discovery that's almost as alarming: the more contrary evidence you're faced with, the more entrenched you become.

Part of our Enlightenment heritage is the belief that we can and will use our reason to make the world better. At least part of it. If destroying the people you hate takes precedence over that AND if that predilection is as iron clad as gravity, well, our Enlightenment form of gov't is just a comic mismatch.

America was doing pretty good with Democracy until the Fairness Doctrine was trashed in 1982. Fox News has ruined a portion of the electorate. The Founding Fathers said a healthy and vibrant Free Press was essential to American Democracy. A Free Press means you can't have outlets not obligated to presenting all the facts and context in any story they cover. If you just say whatever want without any responsibility to 150 years of journalistic standards, well - people will believe it, adopt those narratives.  I mean - they saw it on TV, it sure looks like the other news stations. And it sounds like something that's easy to listen to. 40 years of that poisoned pool, and Trump's clusterf*** response to a global pandemic is the result. Twice as many Americans will end up dying than was necessary, I'm guessing, will be the story when it's all said and done. I mean, the federal government, in a pandemic, is saying, "the feds resources are their resources - they might need them, so the states need to take care of themselves". In a pandemic. If they're not for the states, that give them to citizens, then exactly who are they there for? Geezus. Its bereft of logic - what they're really saying is that they don't have any - and they don't want to admit it. So come up with (another) lie. This administration's Ego is more important than being honest with American citizens.

No. Names were discussed with the reporter's editor. Verified. Or it would never have gone to press. That's how a Free Press works. Otherwise people would be afraid to talk about the situation - with very good reasons. Because Donald Trump is a petty and vindictive man. And you know all of this, but you choose to adopt the POTUS' narratives because that's how toxic propaganda to deflect from his corruption, racism and ineptittude works. It also makes you a sucker.

Because they bought into his bulls*** - and he knows it. He knows it's worse for them to walk away, then to stay - because he knows that their reputations are ruined for having bought in. They have no where else to go. Like a wife that can't leave an abusive husband because she married him for money, and doesn't want to be poor.
