I like this guy. No excuses. Just, "I was wrong not to believe the reports, I was careless, I harmed others, it was hell. Don't do what I did." Good on him.

Here in Fremont County we've picked up our third Covid-19 victim, who just happens to reside in a long-term care facility.

We'll see if he's learned his lesson and is skeptical about other bullshiat conspiracy theories if/when he gets through COVID.

Yeah, but why did he not take it seriously?  For many who are skeptical, this is a political issue and they've allowed their biases to cloud the reality of this pandemic.

If that's the case with this man, I have less sympathy.  Still some, but less.

I'm now reading about people in their 40's dying or feeling close to it with c19.  I'm 42, and not a picture of health, but not a walking Surgeon General's warning either.  It makes me worry.

I understand your concern.

I'm 55 and in pretty much the same boat. Considering that it can kill people who were seemingly in perfect health, I'm not wanting to take my chances any more than absolutely necessary. Then there's my sister (lifetime smoker) and my parents (nearing 80). They're all taking it seriously, at least.

I can't feel any schadenfreude over people like him - I just hope he's learned his lesson about believing bullshiat conspiracy theories. I'm not very hopeful, though.

But it does highlight the need for good leaders when half the population is below average.
I truly hope it is a teachable moment used to make good decisions in the future.

If Walmart didn't double as a grocery store, I could see your logic.   People have to be able to buy food, and unfortunately, there are a lot of people convinced that they can only afford Walmart prices.

This is like a murderer repenting, he's still killed people (and yes, based on the numbers he almost certainly will be directly responsible for people's deaths)

Unfortunately there are too many like him in the US, who won't learn until after it's affected them or someone they love, but because you spread it before symptoms develop - it's already too late by the time you wake up.

I enjoy your posts, so hang in there. And remember, there are other things that can cause various symptoms that seem like can be COVID-19.  I've been having a minor case of that "bearhug" chest, off and on, for almost three damned months now. Also occasional headaches, nasal and sinus congestion, and other "cold" or "flu" type issues. Part of the problem, I think, might be allergies, and that I had been doing regular daily toking, with the attendant minor "lung clogging" issues that any smoker has. I stopped smoking weed cold turkey in early January, and the lung congestion might be just residual from the smoking, but....

One of the reasons I always wear an N-95 outside of the apartment is that I'm worried that I might be a carrier, with chronic minor symptoms. Or maybe I've just been having a minor cold or flu. Who the hell knows? I certainly don't; I'm not going anywhere near a doctor's office, to find out (or a hospital) unless I absolutely have to.

My wife is having the same long-term symptoms, as well. But she has always had issues with migraines and chest congestion (she was smoking CBD cigarettes for her nerves until mid-January).

The cats? Who the hell knows. Cats hide their illnesses. But so far the vomiting all seems to be hairballs (they know something is amiss, and are worry-grooming).

That's not a real big endorsement of democracy, is it?

Except, of course, for the fact that non-democracies are generally even worse in the leadership competence area.

My allergies have been terrible for a month. Sore throat, congestion in the morning, itchy eyes.  Sometimes my sinuses and ears feel farked up. No fever though. For a while I was constantly touching my forehead, taking my temperature, and checking my oxygen level. Never had a high temp or bad oxygen level.

anyway if you have objective measuring devices, they can help you stay grounded.

So you have good clinical data show it was this this drug combo and not just convenient timing on his body healing? If so, please share it with the like of Dr. Fauci.  What about those that have been giving this combo and have not recovered?

Not saying it doesn't work, just saying we still don't know that it works and before the 'what have you to lose' idea, you have your life.  These drugs have known serious side effects and if they are not really doing anything to treat the condition, whats the point in using.  By all means, continue to use them as part of accelerated trials, but there is no clear data yet showing it is what is clearing the illness in some people.

Most likely by November this guy will be blaming the libs for hamstringing Trump's response in meeting this challenge.  They will have always know it was serious, but the libs didn't sound the alarm soon enough in warning people.

Without a following, a leader is just one more lunatic spouting nonsense. We supposedly choose our leaders in a democracy and we're all responsible for who we vote for.

Hopefully this guy remembers that in the future...not sure he'll make the connection.
