Time for Jared and Ivanka to suit up and reuse masks and gloves and start helping in areas hardest hit. It is Jared that Donnie put in charge of solving the lack of PPE so he needs to be on the front line to see how useful he has been and show others that reusing equipment contrary to all established standards is actually fine.

Until you factor in all the doctors and nurses that will come down with Covid-19 in the meantime, after the hospitals are overwhelmed.

June is earlier than I imagined. Better get on those 3-D printed ones for the time being.

Oh, and stay the f**k home!

So just what was in that shipment to China and where did it come from ?

If 100 000 ventilators are needed, that means a shiatload of people are gonna die. Like more than a few hundred thousands.

Key phrase that's buried in the middle of the article:  June "at the earliest" (this coming from the Oversight Committee in turn quoting FEMA).

If the other reports are accurate of the US government basically intercepting international shipments of supplies that are en route to other countries, this June "at the earliest" timeline suggests they have no realistic idea when they will be able to meet the demand, if at all.  This is like FEMA's equivalent of when Trump promises to look at something "in two weeks".  It's just deferring the problem to a later date and hoping the issue takes care of itself.

Delivery is not the issue. They don't exist yet.

Well fret not, we have real estate developers running the country. A group of gentlemen notorious for not over promising on realistic deadlines.

The Trump body-count is about to get a lot higher, and a lot more American, including a lot of religious people in Florida who have been going to hate-church with the Governors permission, and voted for Trump.

His still-living supporters will blame the Democrats.

Eh, this sucks as a sarcastic statement so let me rephrase...

This is absolutely terrifying, because the country is being run by real estate developers, a group notorious for over promising realistic deadlines.

When Trump was building one of his casinos in AC, significant work wasn't being done in a timely manner. So around the time that the Holiday Inn, who were partners in the deal, were getting antsy and wanted to go down to see the progress, Trump had some construction workers go down to the site with some heavy machinery to move dirt around. Essentially just dig holes then refill them.

That's who he is, who he always has been and why we are completely farked unless someone else miraculously takes over.

And the next in line won't really exist since we are already graduating medical students early to help out and calling retired medical workers to come back.

There really just can't be a second wave at this point. We won't be able to handle it.

Part of Maryland still thinks it's 1862.
Barack Obama looked scary, Trump is perceived as an on going relief and soothing presence.

This part of Maryland is my mom's house. Sad.

On Fark, we try to help each other by interjecting our attempts at humor.

But JFC, these people in charge are useless!

We thought that by having a vote, this would give us some kind of control.

People: please understand: a virus has no boundary.  It cares not about skin color, religion, political affiliation, or who is your hero. It has no care about arbitrary "social distancing".  The virus has NO knowledge that you think you are immune.

If you do not go home, if you do not stay there, then you are just a vehicle for the virus.

Is it impossible for you to suspend your dreams of wealth and superiority?  If not, I say this: the virus finds you a very attractive life form.

Or December. Or had a pandemic response team in place at all for the last two years or so.

The death toll from Trump's incompetence has already blown 9/11, Katrina, the Iraq AND Afghanistan wars, and Donny's previous record with Hurricane Maria out of the water. It won't be long before I can add 'combined' to the end of that list, and unless something changes, he seems to be on track to beat at least one of the World Wars, if not the farking Civil War.

But hey, all those people in 2016 who claimed that his ignorance, ego, greed and incompetence would lead to a shiatload of American deaths were just being hysterical and butthurt because they lost, right?

Okay so about two months are needed to manufacture and deliver.

If only we had an early warning, say sometime in January, that would have allowed us to prepare with enough time to have units ready before peak need rather than after.
