Draft Cuomo.

Compared to trump anybody seems heroic and sane.

That said Cuomo is doing a good jerb IMO.

Well he's going to cut medicaid so that sure cheer up republicans.

I can't stand Cuomo. But he's been superb this month.

2020-03-30 7:27:49 PM
he's been the right mix of truthful, factual, terrifying, reassuring and inspirational - all things that trump could never be if he live 1000 years

How?

2020-03-30 8:31:45 PM
Generally in a crisis the leader gets a big bump in popularity just for doing regular things in a crisis. Cumin got one. Trump didn't because he obviously farked up a bunch.

Saiga410: How?

Easy. He's showing leadership, taking accountability, communicating effectively, and standing up for all his constituents. It's not hard to do, but the orange shiatgibbon makes the bare minimum level of competence look amazing.

Most governors (most, not all) have been doing a good job, regardless of party. It's not a difficult formula. Five minutes giving a rundown of what's new. Three minutes urging people to follow medical guidance. Two minutes talking about the light at the end of the tunnel. Then give the podium to a doctor or public health type and stand in the background nodding.

I mean...if you want to elevate your game you can. But above is all you really need to do.

Governor Beshear in KY has been doing great. It's especially impressive comparing our numbers to people in Indiana and Tennessee. Legit proud of the state I live in right now.

OK, fine, but look at the alternative.

Republicans are capable of honest criticism and know when. To withhold it. Democrats are Stark raving mad and can't be honest in their criticism.

And Cuomo will perform as well in the 2020 presidential election as Mike Bloomberg.

Maybe he should tweet about his popularity, oh wait he's a leader and not Trump.

And this is why no one should have been too bent out of shape over Trump's very meager improvements in his approval ratings....if he was doing a good job (and i wish he were) he would be skyrocketing

But he is not.

Is Liberty going to give in and shut down?  Or just have exorcisms for those infected?

An Alabama Democrat? I know how to make one of those. It's two parts bourbon (or rye), one part simple syrup, a splash of soda water and a twist of orange, served in total isolation at the very end of the bar.

DeWine is an idiot, which only shows how desperately stupid/evil Trump is - all you need to do is get out of the way, but Trump in his ego can't even leverage that.

Meanwhile in AZ I would rank Doug Ducey's performance somewhere around that of DJT and that president of Belarus who claims that COVID-19 can be defeated with vodak and tilling the soil.

Hillary's fault, obviously.

What are you babbling on about? New York has, for its entire history, been THE state where people come specifically to leave. Always has. New York is one of the most populated states, New York contributes far more to the Fed than they receive...supporting a lot of southern states that use the extra Fed funding to lure New York companies to the south, and brag about lower taxes. Name a single state that doesn't have areas of decay. You must be in that area of NY, because I see a lot of awesome things, one of the awesomely beautiful states (among others) and a leader of the country (among others). New York leads in small businesses, startups, Industry leaders, income, fortune 500, millionaires...what decay? If you can't succeed in New York, can't find a good job in New York, maybe you just don't have the skills, go vote for Trump, move to the southern states, and they will happily pay you $12 per hour for your skill set, and you can brag about paying less in taxes. Go! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Republican Sen. Jim Tedisco and Democratic Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, in a statement, pointed to the most recent Census figures that showed New York's population dropped by 76,790 residents in the previous year.
The lawmakers plan to launch an online questionnaire and then hold a series of roundtable discussions to address the issue and meet with various sectors of the state's economy.

"The elephant in the room that our state government's not talking about is why New York State is number one for highest population loss in the nation? 'I love New York!' is New York's slogan. Unfortunately, in New York State and in our Upstate communities, too many people are saying 'I'm leaving New York!' When enough people who can afford to leave New York State are gone, who will be left to pay for the infrastructure, health care, schools and other necessities?" Tedisco said.

It's so easy, even a mediocre President of a first-world country can do it.

Which, sadly, explains Donald Trump's response.
