I hear you. Just before Christmas I was going to drive to Colorado to visit my daughter and the SO's son, then take my daughter along to Kansas to visit my family.

Most of the Rockies were socked in; we couldn't take I 40 east from Arizona to New Mexico unless maybe we drove down to El Paso, then north again.

Then we were supposed to drive out in May for my daughter's graduation, then visit Kansas. Better yet, my son was going to fly out from Virginia as well.

In the meantime, one of my sisters got breast cancer: Double mastectomy, chemo, radiation; the works. My mother turned 80 in January.

I don't know if travel will be possible by then. My daughter's graduation ceremony is cancelled, though.

I have MS. If I contract coronavirus before better treatment is available, there's a good chance it would kill me. If my 80-year-old mother gets it, it will almost certainly kill her. My sister just finished the last course of radiation therapy, it will definitely kill her.

I haven't seen my daughter in a year; I haven't seen my son or the rest of my family in two years, and that was when we were all in family for my dad's funeral.

I'm nowhere near as vulnerable as my mother or sister, but my family is really worried for me. I think a lot of it is that they all live within 50 miles of one another and I'm 1,200 miles away. My son is even more scared and my daughter is frantic.

I hate that. My son is 24 and my daughter is 18; they shouldn't have to worry about me for another 20 years.

If something happened to me they would all be out here in a heartbeat, even though my sister and mother shouldn't be traveling as far as their own malboxes. I'd be suicidally insane to travel right now but I'd do the same.

Sorry; I sound like your whiny great-grandmother. I just miss my kids.
