(Washington Post)   One would think that Virginia's governor, a doctor, would be adopting a stronger and more decisive response to Coronavirus. Of course, one would have thought he wouldn't get photographed wearing blackface, either, but here we are   (washingtonpost.com) divider line

It's outdated in the sense that he has taken this action, but not in the sense that it's action he should have taken days ago and, inexplicably, didn't. He's been pretty farking inept so far.

Cut him some slack.  He doesn't recall being governor.

So the Washington Post is pretending to be just a local paper now? That was a VERY targeted and mostly useless article comparing 3 people in charge of three totally different types of populations. A major city, a small densely populated state, and state (commonwealth) with a very few truly urban areas. Yes Governor Northam has been a little slower in the most drastic of measures effecting the entire commonwealth but only by comparison to one governor and one mayor. Do a REAL comparison across the country or even a coast but to include the entire Commonwealth of VA as part of the DC region is stupid.

Democratic governor, democratic state house of delegates, and democratic state senate and they failed to repeal "Right to work Legislation"

That's not a deaf interpreter on the left.  That's a lady hired by the Dems to throw obscene hand gestures at Northam.

For those of us in the DC metro area, it is the local paper.

That said, I agree that I'd like to see a 50 state comparison before I start pointing fingers. I suspect there's a lot worse out there.

Very fair, I am used to only reading them for national or world news, but it makes sense for a local story as well.

One of the nice things aoubt Trump is that he provides his facts and news items for free for all via his twitter page, instead of libs who hide their "facts" behind paywalls.

Wow, a rating of three states, and somebody came in "last" - so edgy!

If they bothered to include a few more states, I'm pretty sure West Virginia would be dead last - possibly on a measure of all 50 states, but using the word "last" in a measure of governor's responses to the outbreak when you are only counting 3 states is just extremely disengenuous.

actually getting rather frustrated with that as well, WaPo is all over Googles new agg site, and 95% is behind a paywall.

I think paywalls should be gone altogether. They are already making way more off of ad revenue than their subscriptions bring in.

More of a concern, the amount of testing in Virginia is pretty minuscule. I expect Norfolk and surrounding areas to be pretty bad, as filled as it is with young seamen....(you supply joke)....and their proclivities. They aren't usually the brightest bulbs in the pack. Also, Northern Virginia is fairly densely populated - most of those folks would be responsive if tests were offered, being somewhat better educated. I am not impressed - and expect better.

Black face?  I thought he was in the Klan robes...

Did anybody else note that "Coonman" just closed not only gun stores but also closed shooting ranges?

If you insist on waiting for a disaster to occur to buy a gun and ammunition, you're doing it wrong.
