jaytkay: I just spoke to someone who works in retail. She said families are coming to wander the aisles for entertainment because nothing else is open.

And we thought the lookie-loos gawking at car accidents were bad.

It's better than mall walking since you don't have to get dressed up all fancy.

From March 24 through April 28, Walmart's 5,000-plus U.S. stores will host an hour-long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers 60 and older, which will start one hour before stores open.

6am at Walmart is already a senior shopping event.

bluewave69: actually cutting hours make it more likely you will catch it as you concentrate the amount of customers proximity during the opening hours , forcing all stores to be 24hrs would be better to make it less likely people will catch it

Encouraging stores to stay open would be good, but forcing them is kind of forced labor.
That is a bit too totalitarian

Meanwhile, CVS says "fark your families" and extended store hours this past week. Not pharmacy hours, store hours.

Yes and limiting the quantity of essential goods that can be purchased will force customers to make more trips to the store.

How much toilet paper do you use in a week? You might want to see a doctor about that.

The hours thing is annoying though, as someone who frequently works until 9:00 at night at another 'wholesale' retailer although I sometimes patronize Walmart after as it's right across the street.
