a majority of people sided with Przybylowicz, saying the crisis is being overblown.

Fox News at work. Honestly at this point I say let them dance. Let them spread it among themselves and have one last one. They've been waltzing over our future for the last 50 years, so it's poetic they go out this way.

/Likely going to lose mom, grandma, and/or grandpa to this. :(

Florida is the "perfect storm" with an elderly population that is most susceptible to the virus, and a generally humid environment that allows the virus to survive outside of a host for up to 3 days.  The state could see a disproportionate number of its citizens killed by the virus.  On the plus side, the Social Security and Medicare savings could be huge!

Could be 2 things:
1) they watch FOX news and believe everything they here, in which case no big loss.
2) They are tired of life and wouldn't mind dying. I which case, let them.

Looks like humanity in general is up for a culling.

My ex's father lived there (maybe he still does; I don't know) so I got to experience the place firsthand.

If the virus doesn't get 'em, one good hurricane will do the trick.

The Villages are solid red for politics.

This doesn't bode well for our Coronavirus president.

My mother is the only Democrat there.  Her and my father are staying away from crowds and exercising alone.  They're well aware that this is the perfect Trumper storm.

Ah, The Villages. The only place I've ever heard of having a black market golf cart ring.

That was already a high risk based on demographics.  There aren't enough Xers to fill those houses.  They have million dollar houses there for no reason I can see. The only jobs in that part of Florida are bartender, landscaper, and urologist.

Both sides are becoming identical. One in fact is being created, an international community. A perfect blueprint for world order. When the sides facing each other realize they are looking into a mirror, they will see that this, is the pattern for the future.

I lived in Leesburg, FL once upon a time. Even then the populace of the Villages were a festering sore on humanity, when we knew them only as "the snowbirds that make traffic go to shiat every winter".

It takes a certain "type" to live in a place like that. They won't be missed.

When I was looking around for places in Florida for my grandmother, its surprising how many units are sold fully furnished.

We should get our moms together. Mine is a lonely Democrat, too. She's staying home. Ordering groceries delivered from Walmart and painting. A bit pissed there's no hockey to watch.

My grandfather is gone. His ex wife is 100. If this bug get really big, it will likely take out half if not all of my 8 aunts. And likely me and my mom. Meh. Bring it own. I don't like living in a nation of illegals calling people illegals. History much? Columbus didn't have a Visa!

My wife's from Clearwater/Seminole, and The Villages popped up once as a possible hotel stay for a Disney trip.

She looked at me eyeing the prices, and just said "No. Fark no. Fark that. NO."

It's an insane dump.

Visual Howlaround Title Sequence: Bye boomers

The oldest Boomers are people like Trump. The youngest Boomers are people like me, born in the same year as Lady Diana and Barrack H. Obama.

Remember Lady Di? How she was so kind to people with AIDS?

Yeah! Talking about my generation!

Not that my generation is dumb enough to believe all that advertising and marketting BS. That's why they too our generation X away from us and gave it to the dumb latchkey kids who came after us, the Home Alone Generation. With a special cameo by Trump.

2020-03-13 5:04:45 PM
If you are dumb enough to play generational games, remember that "the Greatest Generation" also included all the Nazis, Fascists, Commies and Japs they fought.

The Hippies were contemporaries of the Hipsters.

Proud Boyz and Gamer boyz and Virtual Zombies and Bots, oh my!

Follow that gold brick road, kids. In the knowledge that you are exactly like your parents were, only dumber.

You're just like Donald Trump*:  it's all a big conspiracy against you. Everybody is to blame but you. You. There. Is. Nobody. Else. to. Blame. You can't control the world or the future, but you can control how you react to reality, how you feel, think and act.

*Big Meanies force him to be a stupid, ignorant bastard and won't let him shine like a gilded lamp.

Florida's Junior Senator and Former Governor Bat Boy opposed expanding Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. That means a lot of service industry people DON'T get affordable care, and will otherwise go to work when feeling sick. Good thing there aren't a lot of servers, bartenders, golf caddies, valets, theater workers, and marina workers in Florida. Because those are the people who will touch things you touch.

???? As a kid I had to dig weeds out of the side walk in the heat in Texas. I'm 45+ now. Looking back. I have to disagree with you. By the time I was 30 I was over the concept of working hard.
