Do you think testing is not available? It is available, of course it has to be ordered by your doctor, you can't just waltz in.

Except that your doctor can't just order it, but that doesn't matter right.

"...there remain limited numbers of tests and the capacity of laboratories is under strain."

If only there had been some way to know this was coming and prepare for it....other than listening to health experts, doctors, world leaders, the W.H.O., data scientists, leading virologists, historians, countless previous and current examples, etc., etc.  But Hannity is a much better, level-headed, and non-agenda driving source than all those others I guess.

Horse shiat.  There aren't enough tests.

Wouldn't it be simpler now for really sick people to go to the doctor to get tested for the flu and if they don't have the flu, then you consider them positive and treat them like they have COVID-19?

At least until, you know, we get the farking tests we should have had months ago?

The moves come after ample warnings this week, including from a top administration health official, that testing has so far been inadequate and that shortage of medical supplies may be looming. ..."Within a week we're going to start seeing a real acceleration of testing,"

It's very simple to get the test.  Be wealthy and/or connected.  You can get the test.  This is America.  You knew that ahead of time.

All these people who aren't wealthy and influential, I swear.

Just today I learned that two people in the office below mine are in self isolation because they stayed at a hotel in Boston that was an epicenter for the disease there and developed flu like symptoms. Guess what the state of Connecticut is refusing to test them for because they don't have enough test kits? Go ahead, guess.

/They also live in the same apartment a lot of my coworkers live in.

My step son who returned from South Korea last Saturday became very sick on Monday with all the classic symptoms. Took him to the emergency room, turns out he had influenza A but it took 4 days to get a response on the Covid-19 while he was quarantined in our home. He was a high priority case.

I originally called the county health department to see what we should do, they didn't have a clue and had to get back to me. We are seriously farked, there has to be thousands of cases walking around out there.

"With a flashlight."
"Ah, well, the lights had probably gone."
"So had the stairs."
"But look, you found the notice, didn't you?"
"Yes," said Arthur, "yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard.'"

It is also starting to be reported that a large percentage of those kits are being sent out without all of the components they need. Offices are having to scramble back and forth to piece together as many kits they can.

A couple days ago there was an article with numbers and Canada had tested about the same number of people as the US. In absolute terms, ignoring that Canada has 1/10 the population and a corresponding level of resources.

Seattle here.  Came down sick last Saturday...fever, cough, headache, etc....traveled across country three times in last two weeks prior.  Calls to health dept and my only option is to self-isolate.  The test is not available to me because I did not travel to China/Italy....evn though I was in Int'l terminal in Dulles for multiple hour layovers.

There are no tests here...still.

Be careful though, drive up testing clinics often still adhere to CDC guidelines. Here they will still not test unless you've traveled to an affected area or have had known contact with a positive patient, regardless of your symptoms. If you're thinking about going to a drive up clinic, call before you go!

Literally not true.

Many, many, many doctors are complaining they can't order tests.  The only scenario is if the person is so sick they require emergency care OR can prove they had direct contact with a confirmed case.
