I haven't seen either of them but my uninformed opinion is a tie between Cats and The Fanatic. Of course any Madea movie just doesn't need to be nominated. It's like pretending that the Dream Team had a chance of losing at the 1992 Olympics.

But I did see clips of Travolta in The Fanatic and....holy shiat.

Razzie Redeemer Award

...meaning an actor who's redeemed himself of previous performances with a movie this year....

Keanu Reeves, John Wick 3, Toy Story 4

How did he need to be redeemed? When has Keanu Reeves never been awesome? And don't give me the shiat about his accent in Dracula, that was Francis Ford Coppola's fault for telling him he could do it.

I saw The Fanatic on Amazon. God what a piece of shiat. I had not heard anything about it so i was not prejudiced against it. I expected a mediocre thriller and got much much less than mediocrity.

Can they actually force the honorees to attend?

Their best call was GWB winning worst actor for Fahrenheit 911. Their biggest misfire was nominating Shelly Duvall for worst actress in the Shining. I don't care what they say, she killed it in that movie!

She got a Razzie for that? I read Kubrick made her swing that bat like 100 times. That alone doesn't make her a great actress but it's dedication.

No, but some of them were good sports and showed up. I think Affleck and Sandra Bullock did.

She got the nomination actually. But still. Incidentally Kubrick was nominated for worst director. But his movies are generally vilified at first

Halle Berry accepted hers for Catwomam. She really earned that one.

The Shining got really terrible reviews in its first release.

Pretty much every Kubrick movie (well, from "2001" onward, at least) got bad reviews at first and then people caught up to it over time and pretended that they always loved it.

Except for "Eyes Wide Shut".  That movie is still a total snoozefest.

I get the arthouse thing but no latte sipping beret wearing film nerd can explain WTF was the point of that film. Except boobs. Which is fine, I'll buy that. But I think Kubrick thought there was more to it.

I guess I was too young but I don't remember The Shining not being considered one of the greatest horror moves ever. When I first saw it I was also too young to understand what was going on with the old guy and the furry.

Never saw it but Eli Roth? Again I'm going to blame the director.

Why is this still a thing? The Razzies might even be a bigger joke than the Oscars. Even Razzies' creator, John Wilson, admits that the people who vote on them never bother to see the movies they vote on. They always go by what popular opinion had already decided. Cats will sweep, and not one Razzies voter in twenty will have even bothered to see the damn thing.

Paul Hackett: Their biggest misfire was nominating Shelly Duvall for worst actress in the Shining. I don't care what they say, she killed it in that movie!

I rest my case.

In the early years of the Razzies, they weren't afraid to go after people whose reputations they thought were inflated. That's why Kubrick was nominated as was Barbra Streisand for Yentl in 1983. You may have not agreed with them but at least it made the Razzies more interesting. Now, they just go after the obvious low-hanging fruit. If the Razzies had the same balls they had 40 years ago, they would've done something like nominate Joker for Worst Actor and Worst Picture.

Shower threesome.  Actual nudity and not creative use of angles.  In what world does that ever make a movie with two very attractive women not awesome because that world is not worth living in.
