From T same FA:

Hillary 'Biden' her time
Reader Barbara Polito offers her two cents on how Hillary Clinton could get back into the White House. She writes:
"I believe she will take the VP slot with Biden, and he will step down/fall down ... within a year, and Hillary will become president."
But stronger pick: Mrs. O
Reader Bob Mangi sees a different Dem scenario, this one involving Michelle Obama. He writes: "She's the real V-2 secret weapon. I like her even less than I do Hillary, but she can beat Trump. Woman, black, progressive liberal, all the boxes are checked."
He adds: "Don't say anything, maybe the Dems won't think of it."
Red meat for the redcaps. Fark off, NY Post.

Wow, Michelle Obama is a woman AND black?  No wonder why he hates her so much.

Trump probably can't even navigate his urine into a toilet much less the U.S. through Coronavirus.

I sure he will do just that tonight and the markets will miraculously recover tomorrow and the disease will be eradicated.

I think he's perfectly confident. I just think his confidence is unwarranted.

Amusingly enough, they're not wrong.  A strong response by Trump would do wonders for his reelection.

But he can't do it, because fundamentally he's a weak person who doesn't respond to reality very well.  We'll all get to pay that price soon enough.

That in itself is jarring.

Trump's a pretender.
He's always been a pretender.

He has never had to lead or in any way be held accountable to any standard other than the voices in his head.

The rubes say they voted for him because they thought he was a businessman who ran a successful enterprise, but he only ran the business he inherited from his father. Into the ground.

He wasn't a guy who "worked himself up" from the proverbial mail room. He was handed the keys to a small empire, and he bankrupted it.

His brand is all smoke and mirrors, and -- if it wasn't obvious before that he's in way over his head with this "predisential" stuff -- it is plainly obvious now.

Good luck to all of us.

FTFA:  Fighting with the shadows of a partisan impeachment and wary of a hostile media that has demonized him for three years, the president initially gave the impression of being a reluctant commander-in-chief in the war against the deadly disease.

yeah it started with the media demonizing him.  after giving hm a free ride to the presidency.

gave the impression?  we watched and listened to him but we are to blame for seeing him as a reluctant CIC.  when he used a CDC dog and pony show top tout his inauguration crowd size.  "now sir, they said no one has even done as much as you to confuse and obstruct the roll out of an actual health plan".

ok i took a little literary license with it.

The irony, of course, is that this could have been his 9/11.

This is an election year. If Trump somehow managed to step up and LEAD in this moment of darknes--he wouldn't even have to actually DO anything, just try to talk like Reagan or Kennedy (or hell, any normal president) - - if he did that, we would be reelected in a landslide.

But no. That won't happen.

Trump will shut all of the borders and enact martial law, and all the people moaning about how he is a "weak leader who doesn't do anything" will be wishing for the days when he actually didn't do anything. The "cure" is going to be worse than the disease. No authoritarian worth his salt lets a good crisis go to waste.

NO he won't - and you're a fear mongering dope to suggest that kind of crafty response.
Remember, we're dealing with an idiot, no a FARKING IDIOT here. He and his administration are well behind on moves in this match. He took away his moves ahead when he disbanded that pandemic reaction team in 2018.

Aside from the fact that he's constitutionally incapable, the well has been poisoned. He made a deliberate decision to double down on the support of his base, vilifying everybody else, and that makes it impossible for him to ever gain the trust and confidence of the nation as a whole, without which any kind of meaningful leadership is completely out of the question.

Personally, I'm looking for Trump to attempt one of the biggest diversions of his life.  He tried called Covid "a Democrat hoax!"  but that ship has sailed (and is currently in quarantine).  He tried denial, but the thing has grown too big for that to work.  His enablers are pushing the "Democrats are politicizing this!" but that doesn't work because it doesn't deny the wolf blowing at their doors.  What we're left with is what he (and one or two Farkers) have really planted a flag on:  Blame The Press.  And then?  Lie.  Lie about the danger, like about the government's actions, lie about all the progress this country has made to counteract it, lie about having anything under control.  Then lie some more.  Then blame Obama.

We're seeing it happen in Italy right now. The WHO is out there praising their "decisiveness" in tackling the virus. Dozens of other countries are banning meetings of people, shutting down sporting events, and the like. Hell, the NCAA just announced that the whole of March Madness will be played in empty arenas.

If you don't think it will happen in the USA because Trump is "afraid" of right wing nuts getting upset about their civil liberties being threatened...Well...you clearly weren't around for the Bush years.

In his oval office speech tonight I am positive he will be Presidential and will put everyone's minds at ease, leading to a 20,000 point rally and inspiring Scientists to find a cure to not just the coronavirus, but all coronaviruses by the first of next month.  The freed up productivity from all the healthy people will further lead advances, not just solving climate change but harnessing the climate to be a tool in advancing all cultures and creeds.  Similarly cancer will not be cured but directed to become a self healing natural tool to heal all wounds and conditions, severed limbs will grow back in a matter of weeks.  Racism, sexism and bigotry will all end as we realize that we are all the same and turn our eyes to the sky and begin the great expansion across the galaxy.  Our love and light will fill the darkness of the void, turning a barren galaxy into a spiralling rainbow of life.

Wow.  That drink hit me.hard.

I hate the rotten tangerine but I don't care if it is done with animations and holograms to make it work, we really need a leader to step up, address the situation, explain the risks, what people can do now for themselves and for others to help, and assure people that it there will be loss and pain but we can help each other to pull through it together.

If just so we can face this like adults.

But reality is he will probably blame it on Obama and CNN and then say there's no problem.

Granted, Trump is no W, but don't underestimate the power of RahRah in scary times. Stockholm Syndrome all around.

BTW, let's not take fail to give him credit for what he HAS done: made this worse.

If he sat back and did nothing whatsoever and simply let the professionals in the government handle their shiat like they usually do (not problem-free, but I do think most health policy makers try to do a decent job), nobody would be blaming him for any of this. But first he farked with the CDC people for no reason, really, other than some farking idiot advised him to, and then he proceeded to make numerous public appearances in which he said there's nothing to see here, Democrat hoax, etc.

If he'd just stayed the fark out of it entirely other than letting people who know what the fark they're doing make public statements, at least he could have escaped responsibility for this, mostly.

BUT HE CAN'T EVER SHUT THE fark UP. EVER.

Go fark yourself, you rotted jack o'lantern.

He is holding a Press Conference now:
