I don't want to vote for Biden, but if I must...
And I fear him too

2020-03-11 8:22:17 AM
Oh he does, his biggest fear is getting beat by Obama, and this is Obama's VP, this will be humiliating.

Trump fears Biden so much that he got himself impeached to try and stop him from winning the nomination

He fears him so much he got impeached over it. Think about that.

Again, no, he was finding dirt and spreading misinformation that Biden is corrupt. That's gonna be the narrative this campaign cycle and the rubes, I'm fearful, will believe the lie.

/will vote for Biden in a heartbeat in November

I know that facts don't matter. But it's hard to make that claim when you then commuted the sentence of a guy convicted of selling a Senate seat.

Trump should fear his own severe deficiencies.

2020-03-11 10:28:38 AM
Biden should float the idea of nominating Hunter as his VP. It would send Trump into a spin.

He would quickly work out that this would be an opportunity to throw Pence under the bus, blame him for mismanaging the pandemic response, and nominate Ivanka as his VP for 2020, demonstrating how progressive he was in nominating a woman.

He'll also, of course, ask for Pence's resignation.

Then, while awaiting approval of his new VP after getting Pence to resign, the pandemic will promote Nancy to President.

Does it seem hot in here? And what's with the zebra striped bunnies? [cough, cough] Delirium? What delirium?

Oh, that would be the sneakiest psy-op of a whisper campaign!  He needs to get some surrogates and operatives on that.  Let Fox News run with it.

The rube vote isn't very hotly contested. I don't think they're needed.

I'm not super up on Biden compared to some of the other choices, but I'm getting less concerned about his electability.

People are getting the turnout story wrong this election. The youth ARE voting, or at least they're voting about as much as they did in 2016. The olds are voting at record-setting rates compared to how they usually vote, which is already a lot.

If Biden can rally old people and win some flippable old people who voted for Trump in 2016, he'll have a real shot.

2020-03-11 11:08:07 AM
Apparently anyone who asks him a question should fear him.

Older people are more likely vote in primaries.
The Ds need good turnout across age groups to win.
Biden doesn't inspire young people...or even anybody I personally know in the 40-50 age group.
Trump is such a piece of shiat that Biden may win, but there's going to be really bad turnout.

I'll vote for not-Trump again, but I really wish I could vote for someone I think will actually address the problems of our country.

Wonder which group will turn out more voters. If only we had a reference from about 4 years ago.

Trump is holding a rally in Milwaukee next week. At this rate, he's killing his base off, so we've got that going for us.

2020-03-11 11:11:04 AM
Should he? The videos and pics of Biden creepy hugging people are pretty damning. More so because it's little girls.

2020-03-11 11:12:01 AM
With all of the shiat going on around the world folks just want some normalcy.  Biden may be more of a traditional President but he's not a raging psychotic like Trump.

4 years ago was a lifetime ago. Now we're witnessing a tanking economy with a plague thrown in, but let's pretend we're operating under the same exact circumstances.

Also, it's a candidate that a large number of people actually like, whereas 2016 was the 2 most disliked candidates in history?  Certainly in my lifetime, anyway.

I am really, really curious to see what happens once Trump is out of office and could be prosecuted. It's going to take years and years to shake out.

I'm not excited about voting for Biden, but I'll suck the old man's wrinkly carcoal-grilled hot dog before I suck on a shotgun with a swastika on it

2020-03-11 11:17:13 AM
I thought Hillary would win in 2016 and I was very wrong. I think Biden will lose in 2020 and I hope I'm very wrong again.

2020-03-11 11:17:49 AM
Hillary lost out of a combination of apathy and the fact that union voters have a special hatred for all things Clinton. Neither of these things will be problems this time around. The only question is whether Trump somehow has more support than last time.

2020-03-11 11:19:00 AM
If you're worried that Biden is a repeat of 2016, remember that Hillary was uniquely hated by large swathes of the country after decades of mudslinging. Nobody is going to have to overcome what she nearly overcame.

Hell, it may very well be that the Bernie/progressive wing of the party is indeed smaller than we thought, and Bernie's relative success in 2016 was as much a reaction to Hillary as it was an expression of the size of the progressive wing.

/I'm not saying that the hate was fair or deserved.

Turnout was up over 2008 in Michigan, a state Donald Trump won by about 50,000 votes, and one he needs to maintain his Stupidhold.

It's now clear from the primaries so far that many of Sanders's 2016 ballots came from voters who did not necessarily agree with his progressive-populist political views but were motivated by hostility to Clinton.

Biden is currently up by over 250,000 votes in Michigan. Trump repeating his success there is very, very unlikely to occur. Hillary Hate was strong there, Biden seems to be well liked.

The problems of our country:

1.  Trump is president
2.  Damage to confidence in our electoral system
3.  Damage to our institutions (justice, state, etc.)
4.  Damage to our reputation in the world

We need to fix those, first.  Biden is the best thing we've got to fixing problem number one.  He'll be good for addressing 2-4.  When those are well on the mend, then lobby him towards a more progressive agenda.

Fix old, THEN new.

2016 was a perfect storm, driven in many respects by personal antipathy for Hillary Clinton.  Bernie would have been (and still is) risky for other reasons, but a Typical Democrat without that same animus should be able to get over the line easily.
