I hope the show is Ally McBeal with superheroes.  Just She-Hulk breaking the fourth wall, representing D-list heroes in court, and boning Hercules.

I see what you did there.

She-Hulk is a bonafide Stan Lee character, created in about 1979.

Space Station Wagon: hubiestubert: That's great and all, but who's playing Shulkie?

She has the potential to be one of Marvel's best characters after Tony Stark if they play their cards right.

I also would not object to a She-Hulk/Princess Power team up, because a wee girl who can punch Wolvie through several concrete floors and into the sky is always a win.

Love Brie, but I think Jameela Jamil (who's 5'11) would be a perfect fit.

In the Howard the Duck comic reboot from a few years ago his office was down the hall from She Hulks.  They had all kinds of wacky adventures together (one that I recall with Aunt May)

So what I'm saying is this show could go either way

The reason she came to be is amusing. The Hulk TV show was doing pretty good, but the success of the 6-Million-Dollar Man spinoff The Bionic Woman quickly made Marvel realize that if they didn't come up with a girl Hulk Universal could and not have to pay them a thing.

Yeah, but it's not sillier than most of the reasons for most of the comic book heroes.

They're going to do the same as they did with Hulk: Cast a regular-looking person and make the Hulked-out version a CGI creation based on their likeness, acted out by mo-cap. The person who plays She-Hulk needs to be able to act through the mo-cap, have an iconic voice that shines through the CGI, and a face that-- even altered to Hulk-like proportions-- is recognizable enough to be that person.

They're not going to hire a muscle-woman. They're not going to hire two people, either.

The actress who plays Jen Walters will spend most of her time like this:

They really need two actresses - one for the She-Hulk form and one for the Walters form. The latter is a Kristen Bell type (extremely small) while the former is Gina Carano.

We somehow got a Venom movie that completely eliminated Spider-Man from the story.

Yarp.  I want a show that's a legal drama, first and foremost.  Not "I'm a lawyer in my day job, let's go punch bad-guys" like the Netflix Daredevil show (which was great, but we've done that).

I want to see Walters representing Screwball when her antics accidentally get a bystander killed.  Or Starfox dealing with, like, 14 suits for child support.  Pepper Potts tapping her in because a Stark facility has had a questionable lien placed on it by a shell corporation she suspects is owned by the Mandarin.  That's three off the top of my head and it's late.

PluckYew: Universal has distribution rights for The Incredible Hulk and they don't play nice with Marvel for, whatever reason.  I'm wondering if the Universal/Hulk deal is as farked as the Spider man/Sony deal where ALL the characters in the Spidey comics are controlled by Sony for feature films.

Can they call it She-Hulk or is it "Jennifer Walters: angry cousin of Bruce Banner who gets some green stuff on her"?

This is a TV show. Universal has FILM distribution rights for the Hulk. They do not have the TV rights anymore (they haven't made a Hulk television show in over 30 years). Marvel Studios can do whatever the fark they want with Hulk property in a TV show and Universal can't do diddly-squat about it. If it's not being distributed to movie theaters, Universal's out of the loop.

Just stop with Carano. She can't act well enough to be a lead (watch Daughter of the Wolf and tell me I'm wrong) and she's too thicc now to look even remotely like She-Hulk.

She'd need so much CGI that you might as well pick a real actress instead.

I'd like to toss around Alison Brie. Or let Alison Brie toss me around, as the case may be. And then maybe Brie Larson. And hell, let's throw Gillian Jacobs in there, too, so we can just go full Community/Marvel crossover event.

Noah_Tall: I would give the Shulkie role to Melissa O'Neil.  Maybe Renée Elise Goldsberry.  I would say Ming-Na Wen but she already has an established Marvel role.  Whoever it is should be able to handle complex fight choreography because unlike her cousin she has considerable combat training. In the comics at least she has been trained by both Cap and Gamora.

Ming-Na Wen is 56, though she certainly doesn't look it.

Sadly, the one woman that I think that would pull it off exactly right, is already the Night Nurse. Rosario Dawson would kill as Jennifer, and has the acting chops and the comedic timing to boot. As Bruce's cousin, I think she could would fit too, especially with Ruffalo as Banner.

Which I why I would be perfectly happy with her.  She's not young enough to manage multiple movies without growing visibly older but the series will probably only run a couple years.

It also occurs to me, she's 5'4"..
