(Fark)   My teens, Braelyn and Camblyn, are upset over being grounded and are posting stuff about what a terrible parent I am over social media. I am at a loss. What is the biggest challenge you face as a parent?   (fark.com) divider line

You are a terrible parent. Why did you name them that?

Fake threads outside of TFd? Lets see how this develops.

Have you tried beating them?

That.

On Google Fi, I have the ability to turn off data on the phones on my plan (via the website or app on my phone.) Other carriers probably do similar

Embrace it.  Then torture them with the memories of it when they're being tormented by their own teens.

This is pure bait.

You know your doing it right when your kid states "I hate you" after being told 'No, you can't do that.'  Social media hate messages? Like I give one fark what anyone on social media thinks. I think if I was to reply to said messages from a teenager of mone, it would be to the tune of; I ain't got time for this. Busy trying not to raise an ahole. Tough job but someone has to do it :)

Biggest challenge is not allowing Youtube or anyone else slowly groom them to be white supremacists.

Yes, really.

Are those actual names or just the noises that they make?

Ask them if the internet is helping them feel better.
Then change the WiFi password on the router.

If the teens are willing to be that level of disrespectful then subby should go full black-out punishment on them.
Go down to the breaker and kill the power to their room. Take their phones away.
If they want to play "I'm the boss" then it is time for subby to show them that they have to learn to behave properly in society before they can participate in it. Time for them to learn something from books for a couple weeks.

Dodging the process servers so I won't have to pay child support.

FYI Subby, one time when I was little I called my mom a biatch while out in public.  And I was angry and I was yelling it.  My face still stings.

So... there are options...

And part of being a good parent is preparing kids to face the world on their own. One important lesson in that journey is "don't bite the hand that feeds". You whine about how unfair your boss is on social media and you'll find yourself unemployed.

Grease yourself up with crisco, and put on some hockey pads. Get some pool noodles and just kick down thier doors while yelling

"IF YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE UNDER MY ROOF ITS GOING TO BE UNDER MY RULES"

And just wale on them with the noodles until they are cowering in the corner. When properly subdued, take all thier communication devices and brick them in the microwave. Yell loudly that you love " THE SMELL OF SACRIFICE" while they cook.

Then take off the hockey pads, shower off the crisco with a little Dawn, and go about your normal life. Keep the pool noodle nearby tho, just as a reminder of they horror you can unleash when needed

There are rules. Venting is having candid conversations. If you tell everyone, it is broadcasting. A mistake teenagers make. Adults should know this.

This is fake. Nobody would admit to naming their kids Braelyn and Camblyn on Fark.

The biggest challenge is money. Children are friggin' expensive.

It's not just for teenagers. My parents are in their early 60s. I help manage their ting accounts, and I had to disable a bunch of services as they hated getting texts and had no desire to learn how to text on a flip phone, and with flip phones, the need for any data services is pretty unnecessary.

Grounding by definition means confiscation of all electronic devices.

When our daughter was born my wife and I took a series of pictures of her with 1 older girl and 2 older boys from the neighborhood.

When she was about 6 she found a family photo album and wanted to know who they were.

"They were the kids that didn't keep their room clean and talked back to us.

I have a feeling that doesn't happen as often as it should.

I see you've already been taken to task, subby, for your inability to pick appropriate names for your crotchfruit, so here's what you need to do, going forward:

1.  No more internet access\devices for them, until their attitudes improve.  If you are one of those people who think that everyone should walk around with a phone "for emergencies", flip phones are cheap.  Explain to them that they can have their smartphones back when they grow the fark up and start treating you with respect.

2.  Start a blog: Braelyn and Cablyn: Terrible Teen Twats, which publicly details every stupid thing they've done as children, and is liberally sprinkled with many embarrassing childhood photos.  Send links to all their friends and their friend's parents.  Ask them how it makes them feel, to be disrespected in such a public manner.

3.  Do some research on the specifics of Minor Emancipation in your state.  Print out the forms for them, and tell them that once they fill them out, you'll front them the filing fee.  As them to provide you with their new addresses, so you can forward along any mail which arrives for them.
