Oh, apparently Maddow did, and he's being consistent. Good.

I don't expect Sanders to drop out ever, even though there is a point where he should for the benefit of the USA.

Oh, and Carville should STFU.

2020-03-05 12:19:01 PM
It's ironic that James Carville says anything involving the verb "see", given that ridiculous permanent squint he has always affected.

2020-03-05 12:19:40 PM
Carville hasn't been relevant in nearly two decades. Stop giving him attention.

2020-03-05 12:21:19 PM
It's already dawning on people that Biden isn't going to magically get better at this.

2020-03-05 12:21:39 PM
Yeah, Sanders should show the same leadership and good judgment as Mike, Buttigieg, Klobobuchar, and Warren -drop out, endorse Biden, and work to get him and every other Democrat elected in the fall.

I don't support Sanders, but he still has a good reason to stay in the race. There's still a long way to go. He should stay in just to give a voice to Democrats in the later states like Pennsylvania and New York.

2020-03-05 12:23:51 PM
I want to see a civil and honest debate between Biden and Sanders.
It could be very illuminating and it might just energize many from both sides of the Dem Divide.
They're both great Americans who could demonstrate the leadership we so desperately need right now.

Yes, this too reminds of the story bout the gator with the sore tooth.  Now, y'see here, big ole swamp gator, near bout twenty feet long, named Bingo, cuz his owner was named Winston, he had hisself a mighty sore tooth.  See, what had happened was, this gator, Bingo, that was his name, cuz his owner was named Winston, he had hisself a sore tooth.

Now Winston was a big ole boy, swamp country down to his little legs, cuz that's what we call toes in these parts.  He'd got hisself in some trouble back ought three cuz of the heads, but he was a good ole boy, and everyone knew Bingo really was in charge.

If Warren had got out a week and a half ago, like she should have, Sanders would be in the lead.  The only reason Warren is staying in is to hand it to Biden.

Nah, Bernie will absolutely make sure to drag it out as long as possible in order to sabotage things. Again.
Scorched earth until the Dems are a smoking ruin, and his followers go with their 'second choice' of Trump anyway.
Its Trump all the way down from here folks.

I'm not a fan of either remaining candidate, but the delegate count right now is close enough that calls that the primary is over seem bonkers.

To be fair, smoking ruins is pretty much the DNC's resting state.

I disagree. Sanders is the underdog now but it's not impossible for him to win. He should keep going as long as there's a reasonable chance for him, just not beyond that.

Besides, Biden has little infrastructure built out. He coasted this entire time on name recognition. He's insanely lucky that Pete built a massive grassroots network for him and basically just handed it over, but he still needs to build out a lot more for the general. Sanders staying in the race will keep Biden's campaign sharp and on their toes. They'll need it.

2020-03-05 12:28:34 PM
I mean, Carville has become completely irrelevant in recent years so I wouldn't put too much into this.

But let's also remember that in 2016, Sanders didn't drop out and endorse Clinton until JULY. I found it a little ridiculous that Sanders supporters were calling on Warren to drop out because she didn't have a path to win when their guy wouldn't do the same thing under similar circumstances in 2016.

2020-03-05 12:28:51 PM
He wasn't saying that when Bernie was in the lead after Nevada. His hair was on fire and he was speaking the doom of the Earth.

Go to hell Carville. You help nothing and no one.

"Starting"?

This has been modus operandi since the start. I'm not huge Bernie fan but this was inevitable the second a legitimate contender popped up. You only need to look at how people were fawning over Buttigieg after Iowa. Centrists were desperate for anyone to take command of the race, just so long as that person could stand a chance of winning.

Thanks for validating all the conspiracy theories, Jim.

If Sanders had dropped out in 2016 when it was obvious he want going to win the nomination then Clinton would be POTUS.

But yet Sanders voters insisted he keep going until the *very* bitter end.

You drop out now and you get to choose from what's behind curtain number one curtain number two or what's in the box the lovely Hillary is bringing down the aisle.  I have to warn you, one of them is a zonk so you don't want that one.

(audience yelling suggestions)

Box...  No curtain...   Uh.....   Curtain Number....   Two!

Let's see what you won.  It's the Secretary of State position in the Democratic White House.  Oh...  that's the Zonk.  What were the other prizes?  Curtain Number One...  A new Cadillac car.  In the box?  Free soup for two for a year at the Red Bird Diner.

Aw jeeze.  That's good soup.

Sanders:  I fully expect to support the Biden if he does get the nomination.  I also expect to keep going on about Joe being a corporatist shill who cannot bring the changes the younger generation is craving well past any mathematical chance of my nomination.  I expect to do that up until the convention.  After that I will make a one line non endorsement and grumble in the corner.

If you think that's enough of a connection, you should believe that the entire Biden family is firmly in the clutches of Ukraine. Both would be incorrect.

Buttigieg is a progressive, as are many of his supporters including myself. The complete lack of understanding and empathy shown toward us is why we followed Pete's advice and went with Biden over Sanders and Warren.

Why should we vote for someone who does not care about us or our values? Biden, for all of his faults, was at least able to express that he understood us and why we supported Pete.

His Tuesday result was mainly due to his Saturday result, which was mainly due to him winning over the African American vote, something he has arguably been going after for forty years.  The endorsements did help him on Tuesday, but the only reason they happens at all was also due to his Saturday result.
