2) Bring Rocky and/or Rambo back to defeat the Russians

3) Profit

We really need to get rid of the electoral college. Everyone's vote should count.

How do you pronounce that? I keep imagining the sound of an overweight cat jumping on a worn beanbag.

Cocksure posturing is part of the reason Trump won in 2016. No one expected to win, so turnout against him wasn't high enough where it counted.

This guy is the Governor Tarkin of the 2016 elections. Maybe he's learned something since then, but not enough for me to go buy his book.

Plouffe's other big projects besides the book include advising a $75 million digital campaign through the firm Acronym - he joined the group's board - and serving as an MSNBC contributor.

For those who may have forgotten, Acronym is the sole investor in Shadow, the company that farked up the Iowa election count.

The only chance the Democrats have of beating President Trump is if they intentionally infect Trump supporters with COVID-19.

You know there's a little thing called The electoral college. You may not like it, I certainly don't, but it's there. And Clinton and Mook and Wasserman Schultz all knew about it. and you know what they did? They took resources out of Wisconsin Pennsylvania Ohio and Michigan and put them into non competitive States like California and  places like New Orleans to run up the total rather than concentrate on making sure that they had enough electoral votes. And guess what happened children. Clinton lost. Badly. To Donald Trump. Then again she was in the Hamptons a great big chunk of the last couple months... And at least she won the vote there and on Martha's vineyard. look we need to stop the BS of talking about Clinton winning more votes because that doesn't mean squat. She screwed up. Yes Russia played a role, the Comey memo play the role and the media played a role. But at the end of the day this was Clinton and company's election to win or lose and their hubris and stupidity had them lose it.

That's incorrect. A great mant people, myself included, have a problem with superdelegates. The DNC is a joke. It's also a private organization, and so not a valid analog for the United States.

I agree, but I will say that I still think it's constructive to complain about how dumb the electoral college because there's still a lot of people out there that think a system designed to count land as voting instead of people is a good idea.

Agreed wholeheartedly. the electoral college was a bad idea from the very start and was meant to give high representation to population poor states. It was a terrible concept and has been badly executed and time to put it in the dustbin of history.

I agree too, but since this is Fark, I need to make it combative and draw this out somehow.

I think rather than the dustbin, it should be recycled. Throwing it into the dustbin is how we got a massive island of failed political systems in the ocean!

Do you know of many football games where the team that scored the most points lost because a small group of special fans voted to overturn the score and award the team with fewer points the victory?

She didn't score the votes that counted. Let's look at it this way- The world series is 7 games, and the team that wins 4 games is the winner, not the team that scored the most runs.

Hillary Clinton along with Mook decided that since Hillary was not popular in States like Michigan ,a Wisconsin and Ohio that she wouldn't go there figuring the people would be more likely to vote for her if she didn't show up than if she did show up and they were reminded why they dislike her so much. I wish I could say but this was a joke ..but that's exactly what happened.it didn't help that Hillary Clinton right up into election night kept saying over and over that she didn't understand what was going on in the country and did not understand why people didn't love her. You talk about oblivious.

typical msnbc.....
1) find people who sucked at a job.
2) hire them as an expert of that job.
3) book them on every news-turd show on the network.
4) never mention how much they sucked at their last job.
5) profit!

bonus: help them shill their forgettable book (with a 65 word title and multiple dashes and colons) along the way.

Still waiting for some tyro to post-up '16 comparative policy positions as detailed by respective candidates (HRC/BS).  Here's HRC's archive from that site she always mentioned during debates :  https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/ ("Public Option"), on the one hand, measured against the most detailed pathway to "Medicare For All"  to be found in Language  :  https://www.congress.gov/bill/111th-congress/house-bill/676 (compare to detailed Sander's "pathway to - "). Sure wish D's would be ceaselessly hammering on the fact that by overhauling Med Part D, ALONE, (R entitlement signed by Dubya) so as to serve as something other than the massive subsidy to Pharm profit it is (rather, ALL Generics required to be priced at just above cost of manufacture - with special focus on price gouging as touches "compounding" of two, or more, otherwise dirt cheap generics as if Patented and "Limited").

Let voters know that Part D's prohibition on Uncle Sam's using full pricing leverage (pays up in full to pharma) results in Uncle Sam SUBSIDIZING all those "Socialist" OECD Competitor's "discounts" (use full gov. leverage when negotiating with pharma - pharma then whines if it seems they'll no longer be able to keep profits "up! up!" by stealing from taxpayer's pockets in U.S. - "Yes, Dear Friends, We're Subsidizing Socialist Europeans - thanks, Repthugs!"  Yep, Paul Ryan's "fear" of debt re: unfunded portion of SS, pales when the even larger hit from Part D can be "fixed" almost immediately with a little will (flip Senate, folks!).  According to analysts at Dallas Fed:  SS: 14 trillion, Part D: 17 trillion (long term).  Halving the cost projection on Part D (entirely doable): to  8.5 trillion would be one method of developing cushion on our paper (nearly p*ssed away at present).  "Yes, friends, Socialism with a fiscally responsible face!"  (obvious to 'bread and butter' crowd - cut debt & cheaper meds!).

/empiricist pragmatist in service of the Republic - we Americans can use whatever "system"  we deem to promote serving the most/saving the most - with the least
