So New Yorkers are banned from riding the subway?

Where will people urinate, then?

So now we're only going to let the strongest of germs and bacteria survive. We could definitely use a good C. Diff. outbreak on top of the Kung Flu panic.

What about the dude beating off on the red line.  That's never been sanitary.

I was assured hobo piss is sterile

The homeless must be pleased, and they didn't even have to use Angie's List.

I'm imagining the hantavirus from the rats and coronavirus duking it out for supremacy on the station floor

In that case triple it!

UberDave: So New Yorkers are banned from riding the subway?

That's pretty much what it would take.  Send out a freshly sanitized train, and by the time it get's to the end of its run, it will look like it hasn't been cleaned in years.

I thought New York City people were required by law to urinate outdoors once a day to give the city it's unique smell in summer.

Pouring bleach onto puke isn't the same as "disinfecting."

Hey Nurse!: I was assured hobo piss is sterile

That's a myth. Urine isn't sterile.

Still will be cleaner than a SEPTA train

Maybe they could assign some of the subway cops to help clean instead of having them beat young POC for hopping turnstyles when they don't work.

Indeed it would.

Hopefully they're putting those useless platform controllers to use and having them do the cleaning. Blowing a whistle and shining a flashlight at people doesn't do a damn thing in terms of getting people onto a train.

You cannot make the train cleaner than the occupants.  I don't blame MTA for that.

The ones at GCT are the worst - taking up valuable space while shining a bright flashlight into people's eyes.

So, they'll smell a little less like urine, vomit, and people, who've dropped a load in their pants?

So If a young person comes onto the train with a bottle of ... say ... watered-down clorox bleach ... and starts wiping down the poles, empty seats, rails and handholds .... what would your reaction be ?

I mean, If he was wearing a sign that says "tip me to keep cars clean" I'd probably tip him

I'm seriously considering donning a disposable glove when I enter the subway and tossing it when I leave. I figure it's more effective than a mask plus it will remind me not to touch my face. But it still seems a bit panicky and extreme at this point.

Don't bother, the New York herd needs to be culled.
