So does that mean if you idle your car you should crank up Judas Priest's "Breakin' the Law"?

Only if the follow-up song is "fark the Police" by N.W.A.

/and further followed up by a rousing rendition of "I shot the Sheriff."

Do we want to use Billy Idol as a spokesperson?  Idling in traffic is bad but public exhibitionism is OK?

Because this is clearly the biggest issue the city has right now. We've got civilians ratting out other civilians for trying to make a buck and deliver stuff to people/ business.

People are literally pissing and shiatting in the streets with zero repercussions, while others are shooting up in the parks and a blind eye is turned. Bank robbers who've gotten arrested are literally being set free and robbing banks again hours after the arrest.

But this, a few delivery trucks leaving their engines on is the biggest issue were facing.

Other Farkers, is there a name for this fallacy? It's pretty close to the Nirvana Fallacy, but not quite the same thing. I keep seeing cases of "a government can't tackle two problems at once."

This goes double when they're complaining about problems not easily solved.

It's like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under!

Broken glass everywhere, people pissin' on the stairs, you know they just don't care.  I can't take the smell, can't take the noise - got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice.

Rats in the front room, roaches in the back, junkies in the alley with a baseball bat.  I tried to get away but I couldn't get far, 'cause a man with a tow truck repossessed my car.

The starter motor concern is mostly bs.  For about 10 years I religiously shut off the engine at every light, or while coasting up to it.  I used my starter easily 2 dozen times a day.  The car involved, an 03 manual trans corolla CE, went over 250k miles before the starter crapped out.  I am sure I saved enough gas to pay for 10 starters.  Plus replacing the starter was an easy 30 minute driveway fix.  Didn't have any unusual battery issues either.  The factory one lasted more than 8 years.

This has been common practice in Europe for some while.  It's why you get a "red+yellow" aspect before the signal changes to green, it's to give you an opportunity to restart.

Not to mention all of the cars that come with automatic start-stop systems.  All of the hybrids have it, as do an increasing number of traditional ICE vehicles.

I do wish we had a notification systems like this for lights that remain red for 2 minutes or more.  I keep an eye on the light for the other direction, which can be a bit of a PITA.

So instead of delivering being done by contractors in thier own vehicles making less than minimum wage companies would have to spend money on electric cars and pay employees? Has any city created a socialist hellhole like this?

Modern starter motors are basically indestructible thanks to start-stop systems being so common, not that they've been a common failure point at any time in logging memory since electric motors have been a know quantity for well over a century.
