"The ruse in great shame."

That is the transcription from Trump saying "the others are in great shape."

First, the others are probably NOT in great shape, as every other sentence out of Trump's mouth is a fabrication.

Second, don't blame the transcriptionist, as mumble mouth loose-dentured Dotard IS hard to understand.

The ruse in great shame. Think of that. 25,000 to 69,000. over the last ten years, we've lost 360,000. these are people that have died from the flu. From what we call the flu. Hey, did you get your flu shot? And that's something.

He is a fantastically ignorant person.

2020-02-27 1:42:47 PM
The problem is, he can't see beyond "Flu = XX deaths, COVID-19 = XX deaths". The fact that 80% of people who test positive don't have symptoms makes it very hard to track. The fact that the flu has a <1% mortality rate and COVID-19 has a 2.3% mortality rate. Not "One guy is pretty sick", but comprehending the numbers involved. Yes, the flu kills a lot of people annually--most are immuno-compromised already. Yes it's still tragic, but we can predict what the flu will do. We haven't seen this before, and based on the numbers, it has the potential to be much worse.

But no. "When you compare what, with the flu, and many people are amazed (i.e. I just learned this), but you compare with the flu and this, is only 12 people, so... not too bad..." is as far as we can get. That's literally as deep as his tiny, pock-marked brain can get.

I would desperately like to know what it's like to live in a world with competent governance. What's it like to live in a country that doesn't suck?

Trump claims he's an expert on everything and knows more than anyone on anything, then when he'shiat with a fact he's like "I didn't know this. Who knew?" Everyone but you dumbass.

2020-02-27 1:44:10 PM
"You ever hear of this thing we call the flu? Not too many people know about this. It kills a bunch of people every year, and you never hear about it. It's a bad thing, terrible. But we do more for the flu than anyone, believe me."

What's most unsettling to me is how comfortable he is in his ignorance. I'm not going to pretend that I had a good grip on those exact flu death numbers, but if I was getting briefed on them, my reaction would be closer to "mm-hmm, go on" rather than "shocked."

Four years ago, some of feared he was too isolated to be competent in the White House.  Unwilling to learn, perhaps unable to learn.  Sheltered from the world by his money, or the illusion of it.  No idea that a government of, by, and for the people did tasks that the private sector was unable or unwilling to provide.
Not a moron, merely closed off, out of step with the real world, as seems true with most "reality" stars.  Motivated solely by the desire to be admired and the urge to get laid.
Turns out, we were wrong.  We were completely wrong.  He is motivated by fear that somehow his name will become a curse.  He is too dense to realize that everything he does to prevent that is the exact wrong thing to do, and he becomes more of a cussword every day.  He will not be changed, he will not be redeemed.  He will never know the depths of crimes to this nation, and the world, that demand he atone.
I don't mind being wrong.  I learn from that.  He can't face himself if he thinks he was ever wrong.
But one thing that many of us had right about his character.  He doesn't understand how to lead.  It's so much more than simply having a fit and yelling at people who are trying to help.  He doesn't know at all.  Today, we need leadership.
What we have is a coward looking for his next tush.
God help us.
/Your deity may vary.

He is stupid. His brain is small and rotten. He is fat and gross. He has absolutely no shred of decency or empathy. He purposely picks the most evil option. He is the antithesis of all that I was taught I should be growing up. Millions of people voted for him.

I think we've gotten to the point with his tweets that we need to watermark the ones created using a generator and the real ones. I can't tell them apart anymore.

He's just trying to distance himself from the other people who know things. He doesn't want his supporters to think of him as an elite know-it-all. Very Precedential.

I was really amazed and I think most people are amazed to hear it.

He's proud of his ignorance, but then quickly realizes how dumb it is to admit it, so he tries to gaslight the rest of us into thinking that we're just as stupid. It's amazing how obvious he is.

You have to understand that someone with superior genetics who has never needed anything like vaccines or flu shots, the idea that other people might need them must be baffling to that person.
