Does Zuckerborg realize that he could put in restrictions on ads and date sold for political uses and he would be able to influence a Democrat being elected enough to have some serious political clout?

It's not like he needs the money from the ads either. Maybe he is a secret Neo-Nazi?

Didn't CamAnal rebrand as Emerdata?

Sorry, different Cam Anal.

He's a greedy selfish asshole and that should have been apparent with the 2012 CNAP caper that started All this mess.

And wasn't he running for office? What happened to that?

Like most of Silicon Valley he's on the spectrum, and they tend to be anal-retentive libertarian types. Intellectually brilliant; socially deficient.

In other words: He doesn't care. His only job right now is a fidiciary duty to his shareholders, the fate of the free world notwithstanding.

Trump aides have long denied they used Cambridge's Facebook data in 2016 and say they won't in 2020, either. And they insist they have no interest in using psychographic voter targeting

Dumb luck and hiring choices play WAY more of a part in becoming a tech billionaire than being 'intellectually brilliant'. Facebook barely resembles the 'rate classmates based on their appearance' website Zuckerberg created, after all.

In response to all responses to my post:

I think Zucker-borg just doesn't care because it won't directly effect him. He is rich and politics as long as they are not regulating the internet or trying to educate the masses about the internet he couldn't give half of an avocado toast slice.

2020-02-19 10:10:01 PM
Trump's campaign will absolutely use disinformation, misinformation, and foreign-inspired psy-ops targetting American voters. The GOP refused to condemn it, then they actively protected him, and in the future, he'll only get worse. If you're not factoring that in now, you're naive.

He's a 100% dickwad. He also hires monsters.

With a Dem, there's a chance of regulating the massive, unhinged social media companies. He wants free rein.

Sleep tight.

Yeah, that was said before, but that wasn't the point of my comment based on the the excerpt from TFA. Hint: Matt Oczkowski, Bankruptsy and Trump's campaign..

Is Steve Bannon bringing back his caitiff crew to work in the US now that the UK is Brexited to the Wilderness of Sin?

Didn't the Italians throw him out for being too much of a scuzball crypto fascist for smelling like Big Foot?

To be fair; their campaigns are more centered around psychopathic voter targeting instead.

I remind you that Facebook was founded as a place where the college boys and girls could brag about their conquests the night before. In other words, a Rape Artist Talk Shop. Maybe somebody has the film of Zuckerberg being the world's biggest a-hole until Trump.

On the other side I read about something they are starting called bundled donors. In their new version they are hoping people will donate small amounts. This will prime them psychologically to vote as they have a vested interest in the outcome.

It kind of makes sense and a bit on the clever side. They pull in the bux and at the same time guilt them into voting.

Alternatively he's afraid of the conservatives.

I have a theory, though I don't have the money or social science degrees to test it and publish.  The theory is that conservatives are heavily into the daily confirmation.  They go to church and they watch the TV news and they read and post on Bookface at a degree no liberal can match.  They do these ritualistic and group-cohesive things with zeal and obsession that makes things like conservative mainstream news and Facebook work.

And if Facebook is declared anathema, they will abandon it.

But I don't know Zuckerberg's mind.  I can only guess what his opinion might be.

From wiki  Last paragraph.

In August 2017, CloudCommerce acquired, for $9 million, the web development company Giles-Parscale, co-owned by Brad Parscale, Trump's digital campaign manager,[2][3][4] and his business partner Jill Giles.[5][6][7] Following the acquisition, Parscale joined CloudCommerce's board of directors.[2][5][6]
Giles-Parscale was paid $94 million for its work on the Trump 2016 U.S. Presidential election campaign, and gained notoriety for its expenditure on Cambridge Analytica psychometrics and Facebook advertisements.[3]
In February 2018, CloudCommerce created the subsidiary Data Propria, employing at least four former Cambridge Analytica staffers.

It doesn't create chaos - the country got on just fine without huge IT platforms collecting marketing data without our permission.  The only reason they collect it is to profit from it - if they can't sell the data, maybe they'll stop gathering it.
