I thought we all agreed to call Iowa "fun and games" and move on?

CanuckInCA: I thought we all agreed to call Iowa "fun and games" and move on?

I'm fine with that.  Fudge, on the other hand, does NOT miss a chance to snipe at Perez.  She was pissed when there was an exit package negotiated for him, pissed when it was withdrawn, and pissed that he's still in charge.  She just REALLY does not like the guy.

Schrödinger's DNC: An omnipresent and omnipowerful puppetmaster destroying democracy by secretly and precisely rigging its own primaries so only their preferred candidates win, maintaining an iron grip on events from the shadows while still maintaining the veneer of fairness...

...and also an incompetent omnishambles that cannot even figure out how to count, much less how to run a simple caucus without setting their own hair on fire, and who are abjectly both unable and unwilling to provide any sort of guidance or leadership on anything whatsoever.

(In real life, the DNC doesn't have much to do with the ins and outs of how state legislatures and state parties run their primaries.)

Gonna try to think positive in that it's a good thing we all had this happen to us in February while there's still time to do something about it by the convention. If this happened after September we'd all be farked.

This crap has me almost yearning for the days when party bosses just picked the candidate and we didn't bother to have a primary.  At least it would save us from *some* of these circular firing squads.

He was only put in that position at the last minute to do two things.
1- Stick it to progressives
2- Purge progressives from positions of power in the DNC

He just wanted to get himself and his cronies paid to leave before the caucuses and primaries where his shortcomings would be shown. When your job is to supposedly to get the party through these smoothly and you try to leave with a huge pay package before and already are having huge issues , she may have a point.

On what clock is February of '17 "the last minute"?
This is the guy that oversaw the blue wave of the midterms.  That wasn't good enough for you?

Meh, the DNC Chairperson makes too much money anyway. The DNC focus should be about tapping into expanding the base rather than trying to unfark what's been farked. Get the eligible voters that don't vote involved to vote. The DNC needs to put their money into defeating every Republican in every State by flooding the markets with what the GOP has done and plans to do if in office, and let the candidates voice their platforms without any derision.

The focus is the goal, and the goal is to represent People.

The final compensation package everyone got so mad about online is $69,000. No, I haven't forgotten any zeroes there.

I'm not gonna say Tom Perez did a good job or a bad job. But I am gonna say that for running a high-profile national organisation where decisions are globally important and sometimes historically important, that isn't an extravagant amount of money.

Trump may actually be in the Guinness Book of World Records for re-election with the lowest approval ratings. It's remarkable how bad the Dems are f*cking this up.

I personally didn't care for how Keith Ellison was treated ( yes I am aware Ellison was later accused and then cleared twice of sexual assault by exes which is always a very touchy issue ) or how Bernie was treated by Perez and Company. I also don't find it too surprising Black Democrats are barely spoken of and not represented at all this cycle. That's damned telling of Perez's overall leadership as well as the squelching of more progressive voices like Bernie and Warren. Certainly the stifling of the Sanders camp is out in the open again for many to see. I don't want Bernie to win, I'm tired of East Coast loud mouths personally, but he deserves a lot better than the backstabbing he's received from Perez and the Wasserman-Schultz remnants wielding the knives in the cloak rooms.

/ I honestly also don't think Perez had much to do with the Blue Wave of 2018. That was pure backlash and horror at the dystopian nightmare of Republicans.

Yeah, I can't find how much the Chairperson's salary is anywhere, I'd bet it's six figures. The $69,000 is a bonus/comp/whatever, and to me, on disability, that's an extravagant shiatload when you're looking at all the bills piling up. But, is he really deserving or is just a contract parachute no matter the quality of job done, meh not my call really as I can't even donate.

Anyway, it's the corporate minded aspect that is the DNC body, and I've yet to see an ad where Perez is pushing the Blue Wave by expanding the base. It seems he's just a figurehead and not leading the charge no matter how much the Chair makes. Let the candidates state their platform's for the voters to choose, and then stick to backing the nominee's platform. The DNC should be hammering the GOP's faults exposing their plans as failures.

For me it comes down to the Blue Tsunami to wash the Red Tide out to sea, and the DNC being for and by the people. In fighting causes derision, the foundation is built by it's people.

/Maybe his "bonus" should be based on how many voters are added to the base, to attain the victories.

Oh yeah I forget everything is the DNC fault because reasons.

No.  It's not good enough.  We gave the DNC the Blue Wave.  The DNC gave us Pelosi as Speaker in return.  She took the energy behind the Blue Wave and flushed it right down the toilet.

Alternatively, selecting someone for a job opening before you've even collected resumes is really dumb. Let the position be open and see who's interested.
