I once watched a WWF tag team match where, after being tapped in, one of the guys, instead of attacking his opponent, turned around and decked his own teammate and bodyslammed him out of the ring

That's kinda how i see Bernie supporters lately.

Bernie's Brownshirts.

I'm sure someone will be along to explain why this is okay. I'm sure Bernie will weigh in, too.

I gotta wonder if some of these are agent provocateurs.

Lately?

And there would be me yelling "Stop telling me what to say!"

Perhaps at first there were, like the Trump supporters on Reddit, and so on, but I fully suspect that this is home grown. Not all the commenters on Fark are bots, some are just built that way. What's interesting to me is, over the years, I've noticed there are a lot of journalists and journalist-adjacent people on Fark, more I think than on any other aggregator I've been a part of. "Fark isn't that big"- but it might just punch above its weight. So, what effect do these people have?

Bearded 20-somethings smoked actual cigarettes outside and discussed the difference in rental prices between Silver Lake and Williamsburg.

Heh.

I don't know about that. If you search on places like Reddit for Fark.com, most people are like "that website's still around?"

I don't necessarily mean foreign actors, but GOP plants.

Step 1: Lose primary
Step 2: Be more negative than Republicans to the nominee
Step 3: Dubiously claim they voted for the nominee while completely disregarding all damage caused by them in Step 2

Not if Democrats nominate someone who can appeal to disillusioned Republicans, but that's a big if.

So reporting about the people yelling "Fark Warren! Fark Biden!" is dividing the dems, not the people actually yelling those things?

Sanders supporter here. I just want to say that this type of attitude does not exist in the other Sanders supporters that I have come in contact with. If ranked choice were a thing here I would have Warren as number two on my list. That being said I have a couple of points to make.

This sort of tribalism is toxic. It serves no purpose other than to divide. Sanders certainly does not espouse these types of behavior from anyone and I believe would be saddened to see his supporters behave in such a way.

Sanders and Warren are closer to each other on policy than any other two candidates. The Venn diagram of Sanders supporters and Warren supporters should be pretty damn near a circle. You can't tell me that Biden has policies that more align with Sanders than Warren does.

The Sanders shindig Sunday night was conjured by the hosts of Chapo Trap House, the popular podcast of the self-proclaimed "dirtbag left". Yep, these asshats make a living on being asshats in their podcast. This was little more than a publicity stunt for them to act outrageous and get more viewers/money.

TLDR: This was done by publicity seeking podcasters who do not represent what Sanders stands for.

2020-02-06 11:13:37 AM
And a Bernie supporter once shot up some Republicans on a baseball field, thus, he is disqualified.

Sanders will disavow this, and he should. But this is just math: assuming that this isn't an op from other candidates, you can't avoid that the more supporters that you have, the more likely it is that some of them are going to do something regrettable.

And when you can't attack someone on substance, you use crap like this.

2020-02-06 11:13:48 AM

Marcos P: Aaaaaaaaaaand that's how we got to where we are today.

No, it's really not. Mainstream dems want you to think that because then they can keep threading the needle between what their donors demand and voters need.

To oversimplify a complex story, we got to where we are because of racism and exploding wealth inequality. Everything else is just a symptom.

If all you know how to do is burn bridges, not build them, you're not going to win. Hillary tried it in 2016, and you learned all the wrong lessons from her "campaign" that largely consisted of telling people "if you're not already with me, go fark yourself."

Democrats have been trying to get blood out of that particular stone for 40 years with predictable results.

Time for a new strategy.

My God.

At times I get really upset with my fellow supporters for being way to conspiratorial (sometimes rightly so) and hot headed.

Then I come in here, look at this so called enlightened centrist and just wish you all would fark off with your bullshiat. There is zero difference between the tactics and means of the candidates and campaigns other than Bernie supporters being loud and less tolerant of typical political decorum.

And like farking 2016 and thinking, "How can we placate these voters." Which, mind you, the Clinton camp did during that time. You decide to go all Gestapo speech and just start punching down again like the enlightened centristyou pretend to be. Yes, fark your preferred candidates, I want my guy to win.

None of you see this austentaciious "I'm clearly better than you" attitude you bring and its harmful. No one questions the enlightened centrist about the words they say and how that may harm the parties chance for 2020.

fark off. Support you candidate. Stop attacking each other's supporters you dumb farks.

CTH seems to be one of the main corrals and thought leaders for online Sanders support. They might not represent Sanders, but his supporters listen to them.

So they should have been doing what, at the caucus?

Encouraging people to vote for the any/all of the other candidates?

Or were they there to encourage and support their candidate?  Isn't this the time to be divisive about candidates?

If not now, when?
