And by the time Costa announced the news in 12 languages nobody on board cared any more...

I guess it's a little too easy the days for a WHO trifecta (superfecta, megafecta?)

How many coronavirus threads are we going to run here?

6,651? On one boat? Not a chance in hell.

Don't worry, it's a Costa cruise - there's a better than average chance you'll end up swimming.

Cruise ships. Who the hell would want to spend time on one of those floating virus amplifiers?

Vada a borda cazzo!

"...after passenger develops suspected corona virus symptoms".

So someone is suspected of having a fever?

2020-01-30 5:39:41 PM
They are on a Costa Cruise, haven't they suffered enough?

Costa Coronadia?

2020-01-30 5:40:01 PM
Yuck. Floating germ factories. And the toilets never work right. I would worry more about raw sewage than some little virus.

2020-01-30 5:40:15 PM
It's just the costa cruises!

2020-01-30 5:41:04 PM
Gonna Costa Lotta.

all the copycat coronavirus articles with nothing new out there, and you have to go with FOX? what is fark's deal with so many fox links lately? monetizing STIGGINIT shiatholes is complicity in their messaging. the reactionary turn in stories posted and comments here is worrisome, though not unexpected given fark's aging white IT slob demo.

Stupid question: are people recovering from the virus?

Better question...  Do they want to?

Circusdog320: Stupid question: are people recovering from the virus?

So far 170+ deaths, 130+ recovered per Johns Hopkins' info. I can't get the link to copy on mobile, it is an arcgis dynamic page and I can never copy/paste those urls.

I just can't wake up in the morning without a nice big steaming hot cup of fresh-ground PANIC.

(Hypochondriacs do not do well during plagues.)

I'm betting Carnival Cruise lines is now doubly sorry that they bought Costa.

Already checked out fine: it was the regular flu.

Not that there's anything fine with the regular flu, but it beats quarantine...

It's not news, it's Fark old news.

Y'know, when a virus gets a strong Ebola-like response to suspected cases, I have a hard time believing it isn't some serious shiat, and that it might be a bit more eager to spread than China's letting on while quarantining entire cities.

2020-01-30 7:19:14 PM
I was on the Royal Caribbean boat last January that made the news for a massive Norovirus outbreak. After suffering through that shiat (no pun intended), and being hospitalized for four days due to it, I am never getting on one of those damned ships again.

Like all virii, the Coronavirus is and has been mutating over and over every few generations, making it difficult for the medicos to get a handle on. Although some mutations make it worse, it stands to reason that 50% of the Coronavirus mutations are actually make it better! My buddy caught an early branch of one of the good mutations last week and his penis grew 3 inches, hand to heart!

They should green a thread about how many corona virus threads there are and you and some others can go there and whine.

Costa, huh.

Circusdog320: Stupid question: are people recovering from the virus?

This is a cruise ship, so you have to be more specific: which virus are you asking about?  I sure they have a helpful listing of all their current viruses on board.

They keep all the real-time stats on big plasma displays all over the ship! That way you can decide for yourself if you want a stateroom in the section with the raging shiats or the cabin on the deck covered in vomit. (And on the Lido deck... Both!)

WTF? Our understanding of genetics tells us that the vast majority of mutations don't do a farking thing.
