Are they going to carve out the same exception they made for lies in advertising? 'Cause if it's still OK when candidates for political office do it, then the policy really makes no difference.

Ding ding ding.  Right up there with Mad Money being for "entertainment purposes only", and a hundred other stupid cop outs that do literally nothing to stop the spread of bad information that affects public opinion.

No matter how much Fox News calls their shows "punditry" or "opinion", it's still treated as news.  Manipulated photos still create outrage as if they're fact.  Deep fake videos that are labeled as satire will still create the same emotional impact as faked pictures of Obama shaking hands with terrorists or carrying papers about fake military operations to take over state governments.
