OKAY addons to my post reading stuff here (a neural net mindshare of puzzle-solving by the way).

Go to [1,4] MOVE STONE
Enter the hut OPEN DRESSER and TAKE ROBE
(You can now WEAR ROBE)
Go to [4,3] get to the biggest point of the curve of water and THROW FEED
The man will return to the INN on [5,3]
You can now OPEN DOOR to the INN.

No, this isn't ironic at all.
2004-08-02 12:16:35 PM
I don't get it. I think its bugged. I have the arrow and I tried giving the super trinket to the woman and I still can't play target practice. I'm at 18/150.
2004-08-02 12:19:51 PM
from where matrix29 left off:

throw the feed into the lake where the old man is fishing.

he will go into the inn... use the baby and you'll get pills.

then take the baby to the cottage with the moveable stone (all the way on the left side of the board) move the stone, put the baby in the hole.

go inside the cottage open the dresser and get the robe.

then go back and 'get a room' at the inn.

youll go to sleep and wake up at night.

then go to the pantry and get the pot of grease, it will fall on you head and you'll have to make your way out of the inn...

after that go down one panel and since its night the latern will be lit... walk under it and you will now be on fire.

then go the knight and he'll let you through.

then climb the mountain avoiding the rocks.

answer the questions (giving the last guy the pills the old dude gave you)

and then have fun getting burninated.

Eh, as long we're talking about games, I made a stupid little one awhile back. 2d shooter's all it is, but I think it looks pretty good. It's not flash though; zipped .EXE & graphics.

Check it out

/got nothin'
2004-08-02 12:21:38 PM
oh and dont forget to get kerrak's belt... it makes you smell like a peaseant
2004-08-02 12:23:37 PM
I don't get it, the guy walks way too slow. It's taking forever.
2004-08-02 12:28:20 PM

did you get kerrak's belt?
2004-08-02 12:29:17 PM
Continued, GET A ROOM at INN.
Go to PANTRY, TAKE OLD MAN RUB for comedic value
Now all of your keyboard arrows work different [UP]=RIGHT, [LEFT]=DOWN, [DOWN]=LEFT, and [RIGHT]=UP.

Once outside, you remove the pot off your head.

If you go down to [5,4] with the LANTERN, you can set yourself on fire.

Go to the knight and talk
(For some reason he doesn't think I stink even though I am on fire from the LANTERN)
2004-08-02 12:30:30 PM
Jud Jud?
Anyone? How can I get a version of Police Quest to play on a modern pc?? I loved that game (especially when you could ask the offending traffic citizen out on a date rather then ticketing her)....HELP!
2004-08-02 12:34:03 PM
All these video game nerds and none of us can figure out the naked man. So sad....
2004-08-02 12:34:27 PM
I found another bug... if you get your head on fire but don't have the kerrek's belt, the knight will say you don't stink AND your head isn't on fire. I'd like to set him on fire with my head after that!

/still can't figure out how to defeat Trogdor
2004-08-02 12:34:29 PM
I'm at 145/150, and I'm missing two items on the right-hand column.
I put the baby in the well's bucket to get the sandwich, so I got those points. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of with Ned without any luck... hmmm
You also get 1 point for closing the drawer where you get the robe - just because your'e nice and tidy.
Anyone find anything to do in the waterfall screen, the rock in the river screen, or the leaning over tree screen? Just curious.
2004-08-02 12:34:29 PM
151! Wootely!
2004-08-02 12:37:26 PM
Okay I got the belt, but since I lost the baby I'll have to start all over.

Now the knight lets me pass.
2004-08-02 12:40:19 PM
149. and I didn't cheat!

wonder what gives you exactly 150.
2004-08-02 12:41:19 PM
I think the only thing you can do with the naked man is find out his name so you can solve the 3rd riddle (if you don't have the pills)
2004-08-02 12:42:30 PM
Amusing stuff with the three keepers if you get the answers wrong too.
2004-08-02 12:43:37 PM
did it again same as before and got 147/150
2004-08-02 12:44:28 PM
Ok, so I keep getting close to Trogdor, and I keep getting disintegrated by his fire-breath
2004-08-02 12:45:26 PM
throw sword, talk
2004-08-02 12:45:38 PM

Best old school game EVER. Not really a text game per se, but still deserves a mention!
2004-08-02 12:45:43 PM

The NAKED GUY near the WAVY TREE. The hut where you get the robe belonged to HIM. I answered the THIRD KEEPER's question "Where did the robe you are wearing come from?" the correct answer is NAKED NED. The guy behind the tree is NAKED NED
2004-08-02 12:46:40 PM
anyone else notice that peasantry comes from daventry(KQ1)?

Just trying to get a feel for how sick you people are...
2004-08-02 12:46:56 PM
This morning's productivity report:

Eating a bagle in the cafeteria for breakfast - 5%
Playing Peasant's Quest - 85%
Using restroom after playing for an hour or so - 5%
Time spent actually doing your job - 0%

Only 127/150. Good times!!!!!
2004-08-02 12:50:56 PM
Haha, I wrote "get bush" and it said "you probably WISH you could get that!".

2004-08-02 12:52:30 PM
my favorite oldies:
#1 Quest for Glory(hero's quest) 1-5
#6 Gold Rush
#7 King's Quest 1-3
#8 Police Quest 1
2004-08-02 12:52:57 PM
type "get skeleton" in the cave
2004-08-02 12:53:31 PM
You can use the baby on the western part of the lake, one left of where the old man was fishing. It gets you a bottle of soda; presumably used to get past one of the quiz questions at the end.
2004-08-02 12:53:37 PM
Another thing once facing TROGDAR, THROW SWORD to wake TROGDAR, and then TALK to get the sweet ending animation.
2004-08-02 12:55:04 PM
type throw trogsword to wake trogdor.
2004-08-02 12:57:52 PM
I got 159/150
2004-08-02 12:58:00 PM
"okay father of the year....you put a baby in a bucket and it quickly decends deep into the well. Yours is a black, black heart."
2004-08-02 12:58:31 PM
Ended with 150/150 points, no baby cheat for me. Sweet. The end animation is awesome.

FP: is that one of the Leasure Suit Larry games?
2004-08-02 01:01:44 PM
141 no cheating. Don't know what to do with ned.
2004-08-02 01:05:58 PM
[image from geekjosh.com too old to be available]

Another one of those bug-like things. This after loading a save game.
2004-08-02 01:09:23 PM
close the drawer after you take the robe and it gives you points, and you get five points ever time you throw baby in the inn. So I finished with 235/150.

Best Monday....ever
2004-08-02 01:11:30 PM

Naked Ned -- go to Wavy Tree, "talk tree." It whispers "Naked Ned".

When Ned appears, "Talk Ned."

"Never speak of this encounter" or something like that.
2004-08-02 01:11:56 PM
is that one of the Leasure Suit Larry games?

You recognized the naugahyde door?
2004-08-02 01:12:15 PM
I'm wondering if there really is a way to kill trogdor...
2004-08-02 01:12:28 PM
140/150 - awesome. Didn't get the sandwich which probably cost me a few points - but overall this was great.

Total flashback to the early Sierra years and reminded me of that fleeting youth I once had.

Great work - and I'm impressed that people took the time to make such an awesome game for no $$$.
2004-08-02 01:15:02 PM
okay, I'm see Trogdor sleeping.... now what?
2004-08-02 01:15:38 PM
Ok, the soda bottle finished off those last few points. Finished with 150/150 without cheating! Yay!
Way to go team Fark :oD
I'm still missing one item though... second to last slot on the righthand column... *shrug*
2004-08-02 01:17:27 PM
I got 151 without using any bugs. The key is to do the following extra stuff:

After you shoot the Kerrek, get another arrow from the tree.

After you get the robe, 'close dresser'.

WHILE HAVING THE BABY (before you use it at the cottage), do these three things:
At the well room, 'Put baby in bucket', 'turn crank' to get the meatball sub.
At the western lake, 'Use baby' to get the soda.
Inside the inn, 'use baby' to get the pills.

These three items get you past the trivia guys at the end and give you more points than answering questions.

Ned is irrelevant other than to figure out his name.
2004-08-02 01:17:31 PM
at the arrow tree: Look Tree

"Dude, and then the elf, like, totally climbed up it. It was awesome!"
2004-08-02 01:19:38 PM
149/150... so close.
2004-08-02 01:19:59 PM
Beat with 133.

That was cool.
2004-08-02 01:20:16 PM
The game doesn't understand dirty words! From what I remember, if you typed "f-ck" or "sh-t" these games would tell you to "hey, keep it clean!" or "watch it!"
