It has been farking 16 years since we've had a legit new SimCity game. Seriously, how the hell can't one be in development right now. I mean we should have a beautiful but simple game design and 3D build structures.

I mean maybe for the best. If it comes out now, all disasters outside of Fires would be DLC and things would take 30 minutes of game time to build unless you buy lootboxes for fast construction time.

Seems like a good time to run the Formula 1 cars. No worse than running in Europe during a heat wave. Maybe the same guys were scheduling World Cup matches in the Middle East during summer?

Most of that general area is really flat and low level, it sounds like they are in for a bad time.

I've mentioned this here before.
The first time I saw a Cyclone I was at a traffic light where the street I was coming on to was an avenue and the light to my left was a distance away.

Their light turned green and this pickup zooms past me.
I did a double-take then convinced myself I was mistaken.
Keep in mind those days, IIRC, there were no fast SUVs.
The only one in existence I recall was the Lamborghini (Cheetah?).

No, you have to use the opening on a disaster movie to make sure the audience knows who the coward is who will freeze at the worst possible time

THEN you have shiat go down

Stay safe, you kooky little bastards... I wish you luck.

By the time this was greenlit it had already passed Tokyo, or the worst of it had. Not much damage in my corner of Shinjuku, just some extra trash strewn about. Curious to see what the other spots look like.

Uggg, this sucks... last time I was in Tokyo there was a typhoon and that went totally fine.  The next day it was like nothing had happened, business as usual in the city.  It doesn't look like that might be the case with this storm.

What really sucks is I just started a three month, well deserved leave from work.  My plan for this leave?  Go back to Japan... :(

Chiba here. Lost power for a few hours last night (from 9pm to 3am or so). Not seeing any damage out my windows, but I'm hearing frequent sirens.  From the wind noise, the typhoon last month was worse.  I watched the radar a good portion of yesterday evening and it looks like the worst of it was somewhat northwest of us.  I'm wondering how Saitama fared, as it looks like they got absolutely pounded.

Tokyo looks like nothing has happened so far in Shinjuku and neighboring areas. Meji shrine looks untouched. Business as usual so far but intercity travel might be affected. I just wanna shop before I head home.

Well an earthquake is probably Godzilla, but a typhoon is probably Mothra.
