I've used them a few times when I've been in Atlanta on business and found them relatively useful. But I much preferred the Uber electric bikes.

edmo: Like anybody uses a sidewalk in Mesa.

Sure they do!

The cops love busting some poor sucker that looks borderline-homeless, handcuffing them and forcing them to sit on the sidewalk. Gives them justification for three units responding to one marginally-heatstroked SOB.

/Mesa PD still puts their motorcycle cops in midnight-blue even during the summer
//must want them to start out each traffic stop in a bad mood

I doubt the veracty of the melted blue can due to sheer climate. Only cans I've seen in that state were exposed to fire.

The street sign is a result of the green vinyl applied layer shrinking, cracking, and peeling, not melting. The white lexan layer underneath is still OK.

The mailbox is probably accurate. Someone bought a thin vinyl mailbox kit, probably from a catalog, and it softened and collapsed.

The fence might be legit, or it might be the result of additional heat beyond what the air and sun could accomplish. Again if so, wrong material for the climate.

Yeah, it's hot in AZ. But I was out on the day it hit 122°. Cars don't melt in the heat, that's bullshiat.

That sign isn't 'melting', but the sun is horrible on road signs, or really any paint in AZ. They actually have an ADOT lot that has nothing but road signs, so they could test them in the sun. And rhat recycle bin? That's a fire of some kind, not the sun. The melted mailbox, maybe... And the oven mitts? Nor entirely a joke, but it's the seat belt that you REALLY have to watch out for.

I was in downtown Phoenix a few weeks ago for work, and the scooters there were out of the way. There were actually cutouts in the curb for parking them, and none I noticed blocking the sidewalks themselves. Also, the pic in TFA shows an area completely away from the sidewalk as well. Really, as long as people don't park them crosswise, blocking the sidewalk, like I saw in San Antonio last year, I don't care. They aeent a bad thing overall... And the compa ies even GPS limit them so that they can't go I to certain areas, which can help keep them out of residential neighborhoods.

The only people I see using these in North Mesa are people who destroyed the tracker device and use them as a get away vehicle after shoplifting. I've had several recovered from around the dumpster area behind my store, modified and fully charged ready to go

A buddy of mine moved to Arizona and at some point bought a Fiero.  He came out to find the heat had softened some adhesives enough for parts to fall off the car.

Only him, lol.  In Florida a coworker said "Dave, why is smoke coming out of your car?"  He had a Firebird (heh) with T-tops.  There were some scratches in one and one day the sun aligned perfectly and the scratches focused light on the passenger side sun visor, scorching a couple "slashes" in it.  Damned near lit it on fire lol.

Those don't surprise me a bit.  I lived in South Florida for 15 years and God forbid you left a CD jewel case out.  They'd deform like crazy.  Leaving a writable CD in the car meant you'd find the metallic part all crazed and flakey.

Had a can of Sprite explode in my car and it wasn't even exposed to sunlight.  Mythbusters "busted" the exploding lighter "myth" but they used Bic lighters.  Had they used the cheapo clear plastic ones they would have proven it's not a myth.  A handful of times I got in my car and found little bits of lighter shrapnel all over.

I live in Texas.
I found an exploded bic lighter in my car.
I left it in the center console middle of summer.
Mythbusters are idiots and disproved nothing.
