The indictment goes on to state that the congressman "had been the beneficiary of approximately $3 million" in donations from a campaign committee

Didn't Citizens United make it basically legal for Putin to bribe the GOP?  It looks like the effort really paid off for the Russians.  For about the cost of an advanced jet fighter, they've bent the USA to do their bidding.

Turkey and Saudi too, and probably for less money.

All you have to do is launder it through something like the NRA.

"I was first approached by these individuals for a meeting about the strategic need for Ukraine to become energy independent," he added. "There was no request in that meeting and I took no action. Over time, I recall that there were a couple additional meetings. Again, at no time did I take any official action after these meetings"

So, there were requests at the other meetings then?

"Federal authorities alleged that around the same time, Parnas "sought Congressman-1's assistance in causing the U.S. government to remove or recall" the American ambassador to Ukraine at the time, Marie Yovanovitch. Yovanovitch was a well-regarded diplomat who came into disfavor within the Trump administration and was removed from her post earlier this year.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that Sessions, in his capacity as House Rules Committee chairman, advocated for the ouster of Yovanovitch.

Guess so. You farkheads are barely even trying to hide your corruption you're so sure you can get away with it.

As long as the quid pro quo document doesn't spell out the exact details of the bribe and the abuse of authority, is duly notarized with 3 retired judges as witnesses, and is published in the Inuit Tribal Newsletter no less than 30 days after the statute of limitations expires, Russia can give Trump anything they want.

Get #MoscowMitch listed in an indictment and we'll have a full house.

By the way, Marie Yovanovitch is scheduled to testify tomorrow. That should be nice.

So happy my district kicked him to the curb last election.

Today I also learned that his father, William Sessions, former head of the FBI, became a lawyer for Semyon Mogilevich.

I used to think the 24/7 News Cycle was the most damaging singular thing to happen to this country, but CU is really making a push. It might legit destroy democracy in this country.

With all these GOP politicos taking advantage of CU for corrupt funds, there must be some amount of BSAB and there must be an example of a Democratic politician who took money from some shady foreign corrupt government or business, funneled through an equally skeezy domestic non-profit (allegedly) entity, right? Has anyone exposed a single federal-level Dem politico who has received such money? Must be that they're smarter in hiding it.

How could I have taken any official action after the meetings, I was too busy sitting in a subcommittee session!
