He does, however, respect the written score.

Some real good baseball games during these playoffs. Except the Yankees-Twins.

Julio Teheran would have been well within his rights to bean the next batter he faced.

Fark Deadspin and their rank hypocrisy. I'll bet that jackass Cub fan Tom Ley wrote that article.

You know what? Carlos Martinez was a biatch in regards to being owned by Acuna Jr., and I say that as a Cards fan - he earned the right to talk trash to Martinez. But I'll be damned if we get some lectures from some faux hipsters at Deadspin about the "evil Cardinals".

I've enjoyed almost every game so far, especially nationals/dodgers yesterday. Stl blowing it top of the 9th on Sunday ruined my parlay (had stl +1.5 and they lost by 2) but it's the only one I've missed all playoffs.

/sadly backed tb out of my parlay yesterday but kept stl, was, nyy -1.5
//prob backing out on tonight's game too
///three slashies and you're out!

It's funny how STL is seen as the ONLY MLB franchise who are a bunch of old-time right wing blowhards among Deadspin (and on Fark) and every other MLB teams fanbase is all "woker than woke" socially.

The Yankees still have a no facial hair policy to this day.
The Indians held onto Chief Wahoo for years until this past season.
The Braves still do the tomahawk chop at every home game.
The Red Sox were the last MLB team to integrate.
The Reds had Marge Schott as an owner for the longest.

Yeah, there's a stupid segment of goobers who are stuck in a 1940s mindset among Cardinal fans and Chris Correa embarrassed the franchise with that hacking scandal - fine, get over it. I still think Deadspin's Cardinal paranoia is based on lame and boring St. Louis being successful more than anything else.

The game was over. There really aren't any rules - written or otherwise - at that point.

If they simply admitted that they were jealous of how a "crappy" city like St. Louis was more successful in baseball than Chicago, LA, Seattle, Boston, et al. were, at least I'd get it on a base level.

The social problems that plague St. Louis are the same ones found in other similar Midwestern/East Coast cities: Milwaukee, Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore, yet Deadspin would never write an article disparaging the city of Detroit or Cincinnati as a whole if they were dissing the Tigers or Reds. But bring up the Cardinals and all of a sudden, those morons are channeling their inner Cub fan insults and what's worse is that very few of their writers are from Chicago, to my knowledge.

I've given the explanation before - it's like a UCLA football fan talking trash to a Clemson fan about how the state of SC sucks out of the blue.

Which is weird, as the site was founded by an STL fan.

Just to clarify: Will Leitch is a Cardinals fan, but he's from Mattoon, IL (about 45 minutes south of Champaign) which is more or less the dividing line between Cardinals and Cubs territory in the state.

Originally, Deadspin was just a riff/parody on ESPN. Then Gawker Media acquired them and brought all their faux hipster writers to Deadspin, and they decided to make it a bash the Cardinals/St. Louis website during baseball season. They had a running count and story of every single Cardinal loss one season in particular (maybe 2014?) Assholes like Drew Magary and Tom Ley fueled the fire and poisoned the well.

I can understand someplace like r/CHICubs talking trash - I'd probably get pissed, but at least it would make sense from them. I don't think most of their writers are even baseball fans to be honest.
