It's hard for me to believe that we live during a time when such a ridiculous number of people (or a number of ridiculous people) freely give every piece of information about them to a company that sells their data for marketing purposes

This is all fine.  Not just fine, but desirable.  This just expidites the inevitable collapse.  You might say, "since the collapse is inevitable, we should do what we can to delay it".  That is wrong.  That just means more people will be consumed in the cannibal apocalypse.  The best, most moral thing to do is speed up the mad max world.  That way we come out the other side sooner.  That eay less individuals exist who will be eaten by other humans.

Too many poorly understand the relational nature or the data. I have had to explain the concept of data relationships to coworkers, and used Facebook as the example. When they caught on, they were horrified.

I deleted my FB account about a month ago or just shy of a month.

I made a comment on the Liberal Party (said Trudeau is useless and only looks good because Trump is over the top horrible that its Impossible to look bad compared to him)

I then had some jack off go full on Trumpian on me.   So I replied "Fark You ya A-Hole.

Then i got a message from FB an hour later saying my account is disabled for a week for harassment, so I appealed it. Tild them to have a person review the posts and they could easily see I wasn't the aggressor.

Day later a "person" got back saying they reviewed my appeal and even though I was only defending myself they can not remove the block because reasons and have also given the other person a 7 day ban.

I replied with. "I'm not 15, I can live with out your spyware on my phone and not deal with FBs Bullshiat.  I'll simply delete everything"

/yes, I know Facebook never deletes anything unless it's something against their android leader
//was surprised at how many times a day I caught myself reaching to the phone to look at FB but it wasn't there
///took a few weeks but I literally feel happier not having that FB shiat all up in my face every moment all day
