Yep. That's how they get away with it. When every single farking thing you do is embarrassing, illegal, confusing, rude, or in bad taste, after a while people tune it all out. There's only so much we can take.

5 Crazy Trump Stories That'd Be Scandals In A Normal World If The President Were A Democrat

Exactly.  We have set a very dangerous precedent, electing this guy.  Every Republican President from now on knows you can literally get away with anything as long as you appoint the right people to cover your ass.  The Attorney General is key, they decide whether or not to investigate or prosecute.  For a Republican, that's enough - the Democrats in the House don;t have the balls to impeach.  For a Democrat, it doesn't work, because we actually respect the rule of law.  But as the opening scene of Idiocracy warned us, we're going to be seeing many more mental defectives and therefore many more Republican voters over time.

tl;dr - we're boned.

The difference with Idiocracy is that while the people were dumb, they weren't inherently cruel.

I don't need to read the article because there is NOTHING in there as outrageous as a president wearing a tan suit.

Someday, thanks to Donald Trump, Benedict Arnold will no longer be the name most synonymous with treason.

The Trump presidency is a gish gallop of scandal, malice, and incompetence. There's just too much to deal with at once.

The vetting process for Rudy Giuliani, meanwhile, unearthed so much dirt about his "foreign entanglements" that the team wrote a separate 25-page report listing them all.

Holy.

Wait, these are worse....

There were also some weird red flags, too. One that the RNC identified with regards to Mick Mulvaney, the current acting chief of staff, was that he once called Trump "not a very good person." Meanwhile, David Petraeus, who was in the running for secretary of State and National Security Adviser, was flagged for his opposition to torture. Which might be the best reason anyone ever failed to land a job.

When the RNC vetted Laura Ingraham for a potential role as press secretary, she was pulled up for past transphobic comments, while Kris Kobach, who was vetted for Homeland Security secretary, was flagged over his connections to several white supremacist groups. Which marks the first and last time that ever happened.

Petraeus wasn't fit because he opposed torture.

I need to sit down and let that marinate...

Calling Trump's presidency "gonzo" makes me think of Hunter S. Thompson, which is very unfair to Thompson. Sure, he was an ass, but he was also a hell of a writer. Trump has no redeeming qualities.

There were other reasons. Trump just wanted Petraeus because Obama fired him.

Personally, I think we should tie every re-publican to Trump for the rest of their days.  Every scandal becomes their GOP scandal, and their inaction was implied consent.

Wyalt Derp: Teflon Don.

He looks like shiat, though. He's rattled by talk of a recession. He obviously is worried his image (among his voters) is crumbling and out of control.

President Trump: "I am the chosen one."
Youtube lzlxrPC_E_U

There's this moment at 9s in the video where he's asked about the recession and appears to want to leave. Then he calls the media fake and starts arguing like the media is his wife who really wants a recession and he really wants to win this argument. You want a recession? Let's have a recession. Then he goes on to his routine about how he's strong on China and Joe is Sleepy.

He can (poorly) dodge a question, but his real enemy is his someone else's dumb ideas.

Jesus farking Christ. You don't just throw the label out there and see if it sticks, "recession" is a quantifiable thing. It's based on observations, measurements, farking reality.

There isn't a single thing about his job that he knows a damn thing about.

Missing from the article:
Failed Yemen operation
Lawsuit claiming he had sexual contact with a 13 year old
Farmer bailout after tariffs
Not releasing taxes
Foreign dignitaries staying at Trump DC hotel to gain favor
Not paying police for protection during rallies
North Korea negotiations failures
Daughter receiving trademark favoritism in China
Mar a Largo membership giving access to President
Daughter performing ambassadorial and executive roles without appointment
Releasing classified information to a foreign power
etc, etc...

One of the many things I don't understand is, that in the past up till now, criminals hope to get away with their misdeeds by hoping no one will find out.

This group is doing it all right in the open, like they have no fear of future consequences. That means the next election is the most important one in American history. If they win, everything that is just beginning to stick it's nose out, is going to become accepted and strengthened.

I believe a civil war is quite possible no matter what side wins. I have no doubt that if D2S loses, it's going to be fake news, and he will do something to cause further unrest. I don't know what it would be, but someone on his side has got to be thinking two or three steps ahead. Not Trump, he's smart enough to have someone else do the thinking and planning. It will be a wink and a a nod, nothing provable, but it would come out in his favor, just like Russia and his election. Surely not all Republicans are crooks, are they? Cowards? Would cowards be a better word?

I'm really hoping that someone or some people on the other side has chess moves planned out to counter.

None of these are scandals when a Republican is president.

Because reasons.

And on this list, let's not forget Transgender troops.
It's a scandal the way he implemented it and it's been devastating to almost 15k military personnel. Including the unicorns that got grandfathered in.
Trans people sign on the same bottom line as everyone else and for no other reason except for malice, has he decided to get rid of us.

/discharged after 18 years for being trans, I'm still pissed.
//general discharge at that
///put on trial, commission stripped and kicked out. Everything gone

They can't take away my medals though (I wouldn't put it past him), I hope.

He's a bastard and I hope he dies a horrible death

No, nothing but a kick in the ass.
The VA, however, has my back and I wouldn't be alive today without them. You know the sad part is that I was in the process of getting medically discharged for PTSD when they found out I was trans through a data sharing agreement with the VA(i was in the Guard at the time). The bastards. I do get some disability from the VA, but nothing close to a pension.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to read that stuff about the vetting documents tomorrow. I have to parcel out my anger, not binge on it. President Jabba has been particularly repellent today so I'm full up on rage.

Lexx0001: he's smart enough to have someone else do the thinking and planning.

By that you mean that he's an utter moron that assigns other people to make decisions that he should be making himself, and who have him convinced they know something or have some ability that he doesn't have. Something that he himself would never admit to because he's a toxic egomaniac and an utter buffoon.

Jared Kushner for example.

shiat rolls downhill, but someone at the top must be doing the defecation. That sure as shiat isn't Fat Donny Two Scoops.
