I think this is a great idea, a lot of NGOs have their heart in the right place but sometimes end up doing something that doesn't help that much of hurts the population in other ways.

My only reservation with handing everyone cash would be short term hyperinflation for basic needs.

Just giving homeless people homes and just giving poor people money has been shown to be effective, but we don't do that because we have morality hangups about it.  Stupid Calvinism.

It might not be perfect, so don't you dare try!!

Now, to distract from what may be  dangerously close to helpful idea, let's alltalk about committing the very worst atrocities you can imagine happening to you, to people who don't quite look like you!

Price gouging laws exist to prevent that very thing

This planet has a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.

Yes, here in the U.S.  I was thinking of places like Haiti or somewhere similar. Giving cash is probably still better than what the majority of relief organizations do though.
