My uncle has been battling peacocks for years now. They are appearantly noisy, tear up the yard and will chase kids and pets. It's been a stalemate so far.

Any luck catching them peacocks, then?

Getting cocks comes naturally to cops.

They're like Canada geese, only they stay around and look pretty to occasional visitors, I'm told.  Apparently peacock guano is not highly prized because peacock hipsters haven't been invented yet.

Terrorizing is a bit strong for reporting fake news

I'm guessing it escaped from Canobie Lake Park, an amusement park in Salem, NH.  Granted, I haven't been there for 20 years, but they used to have live peacocks terrorizing the guests.  15 miles away, I'm not sure about the airspeed velocity of an unladen peacock.

We had a peahen in are neighborhood when we first moved to Pasadena CA.  Coming from the East coast it was interesting to see them in the "wild".  They do not give a shait and can be a bit nasty if they want to.  Use to like to sit on to of my car and wouldn't move until I got in it and started it.

We have a pea hen wandering the neighborhood. It's cute but loud as fark. I'm sure one of my redneck neighbors will grill it up someday.

Yep, noisy as fark and obnoxious as hell.  Had the same crowd in Arcadia, man they sucked.  When I was a kid we had to resort to poinking them with BB's to get them to piss off so we could use our yard, they'd get aggressive and loud and hassle everyone.

/air BB guns, only pumped up a few times
//we just wanted to annoy them enough so they'd go away, not actually hurt them
///nothing else worked - walking up on them and trying to shoo them away just pissed the males off - and they were the problem children

Wasn't azackly terrorized by a peacock, but it did scare the shiat outta me. Was backing up my car and suddenly hear a SCREAM.
"Oh shiat, I've hit a kid!"
For the record, I WAS looking out the rear window- nobody visible.

Got outta the car, feeling sick at what I might have done...nothing behind the car.
Look around, check under the car...nada.
About then I saw a male peacock flutter up into a tree.
Didn't put two and two together until someone told me that their 'song' consists of some of the most bloodcurdling screams that you really don't wanna hear again.

YAY!! and "whew!"
Hadn't hit anyone or anything after all.

My town has them downtown and they basically live in a 4 block area.  These are pretty tame though. Hanging out in the middle of the road blocking traffic (they only move when they decide to) and has been mentioned above their call sounds like someone getting murdered are about the worst things that happens with them.

Apparently some millionaire years ago raised peacocks and I guess just let them roam.  Anyway theyve been there for decades and the town has adopted them because they are pretty.

If I were a peacock I would be insulted by that name.

It's just the one peacock, actually.

Aunt used to raise them. Might be hers.

Your uncle does know that brooms exist. FYI: Brooms also work on turkeys.

I've got a nice old straw broom with a thick wooden handle. If the broom end doesn't work, flip it around and use the handle, and it'll do the trick nicely.
