It's suburban Alabama, so those aren't temperature readings, subby.

They're number of siblings and IQ, respectively.

Those are imperial inches and metric inches.

Woman shoots husband while trying to shoot someone else in road rage incident, sheriff says

Those are two lucky men.

Good thing she shot him in the head. Alabamans keep noting of importance there.

Scale on our left is probably accurate, she'd be a little above 5' tall.

I'm not sure what the scale on the right is for.

Units are important.

"accidentally shot her husband"

Right, wink.

2019-07-08 11:28:34 AM
What the Hell is that chart in?

I know inches and centimeters. 72 inches or 6 feet is 180 centimeters. 60 inches or 5 feet is 150 centimeters, approximately.

Maybe the second scale is in cop inches.

2019-07-08 11:29:10 AM
The left scale is in "centimeters + 100", and the right one is in inches. 160 cm = 63 inches.

2019-07-08 11:30:26 AM
Maybe the scales show height with and without shoes and hair? But if so, how do they manage Marge Simpson in high heels?

2019-07-08 11:31:08 AM
That is some next-level metric sh*t right there.

2019-07-08 11:31:40 AM
What caliber weapon did she shoot him in the head with? Did she just graze him? Why is the hubby still alive?

2019-07-08 11:31:51 AM

Plamus: The left scale is in "centimeters + 100", and the right one is in inches. 160 cm = 63 inches.

Well, I'll be damned.

You might be right. It's worth a votey or two at least.

2019-07-08 11:32:01 AM
Looks like the scale on the right is inches, and the one on the left is centimeters, with an assumed 100 to be added to the number.

Reasoning: the one on the left is scaled per 10 units. 10cm is roughly 4 inches, which matches with the scale spacing on the right. So, she's 65 inches and 165 cm (5'-5" in both cases).

Sweet Home Alabama.
Consistent measurement scales they eschew.

While funny, is the zero Kelvin really dated though? Maybe it is a limit thing as you approach zero Kelvin but the actual would be undefined.

Would make a mediocre premise of a scifi novel.

Zero Kelvin is zero Kelvin. Absolute zero, the temperature at which all subatomic motion comes to a halt. While we may not have attained it yet, that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist or is "outdated". When we attain that temop, it will be at zero on the Kelvin scale, just like we anticipated.

What'll really rustle your jimmies are the negative temperatures on the Kelvin scale allowed in quantum thermodynamics.

"Dead" at zero Kelvin is also anticipated. If it changes to "Live", then that's worth an "That's odd".

I think the funniest thing that I ever saw on the old Letterman show was when Chris Elliott demonstrated the difference between 100 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 degrees Celsius by plunging his hands into water purportedly heated up to those degrees

Further proof that people don't need training or some sort of demonstrated competence (either skillswise or in general) to carry a gun around in public.

Also, what's her height in cats?

CSB:

About 15 years ago I lived a down the street from a Kum & Go. The how tall was the robber sticker on the door jamb was not installed correctly. It showed me @ 6', I am actually 5' 8 3/4". For years when people asked how tall I was I said 6', finally 1 day my BIL looks at me & says no way, he is 6'2" and several inches taller than I am. I bought him a rum & coke for being the first 1 to question my 6' height.
