"In the Medicare-for-all bill, it makes private insurance illegal. And there are 150 million Americans who have private insurance and most of them like it," he said.

I have private insurance through my wife's employer and while it isn't terrible I would still rather have UHC. For example, because of networks, we can't go to the Hospital ER just a few minutes from our house. Instead, we have to go to one that is a 20 minute drive. Actually, we could go to the closer one but it would be out of network and thus cost us a lot more. And can I go to the neurologist that is 10 minutes away and I was originally referred to by my PCP? Of course not, because of networks again. I have to go to a neurologist who is 25 minutes away.

And of course my wife's employer changed plans at the beginning of this year and some of the doctor's we are seeing who were previously in network are now out of network, so we can continue seeing them but at an added cost. And so we've already found a few replacement doctors who are in network but I'm guessing we'll have to go through the same thing again when her employer decides to change plans again in a few years.

So I like my current insurance when it works but there are quite a few inconveniences I could do without. And I absolutely hate that they can pretty much dictate which doctors we can see and make us change after being with a doctor for years. UHC can't come soon enough for me.
