(WTAE)   In 1953, it took 27 hours to create one Peep by hand with a piping bag. Today it takes six minutes per Peep by machine. Amazingly, they're still just as nasty as they were back in 1953   (wtae.com) divider line

Nasty? After 66 years, they ought to be like sugar-coated rocks.

Peeps, Kandy Korn, and those unholy Necco wafers.
How anyone thought these were a good idea is beyond me.

27 hours to fold marshmallow goop into an S-shape?
Does that include overtime?

Necco wafers were an important part of the chalk recycling industry, and they served a valuable purpose because you could give them out at Halloween to ensure that those kids would skip your house next year.

I hate to admit this, but I tried the new sour watermelon peeps and they were goddamned delicious.

Now I'm going to hell.

Came for this.  Not figuratively, I'm working part time as a Peep-filler

I know everyone of you like peeps and you just won't admit it 🐤 They're disgusting and gross and I always have to buy a box of them, take them home, pop the plastic and let the outsides get real hard before I eat them. Once a year.

That's not "working" and the police would like to have a word with you.

They are garbage, but I love stale peeps.  So chewy, so insulin-y.

Peeps are disgusting. If I want a pastel-colored marshmallow, I'll make my own.

You need to put toothpicks in them and have Peep wars. It's an annual tradition for us.  FYI--Bunnies tend to fall over before stabbing any other shape. Chicks have a nice low center of gravity.

Well, that is the same generation that put meats and vegetables in gelatin...

I doubt it take 6 minutwe per peep. Maybe it takes 6 minutes from start to finish on the assembly line, but they're probably producing hundreds, if not thousands in that time.

Now I'm pictures some guy standing over the vat added that last ingredient.

I've always enjoyed peeps, though if asked why I don't think I could give a good answer.

Not me! I don't buy them but inevitably I end up with a few somehow. I always make sure they die horribly.

All Peeps must die!
