Health care could actually be the big talking point that sways people in the election. Everyone across all political parties are fed up with the health care system. All the Democrats have to do is show how the Republicans are backing a system that would let them die and/or go bankrupt, and there will be people paying attention who normally vote Republican.

For all the farkers with short memories, Trump promised "great health care" that would "cost less" and "cover everybody" in 2016, so this isn't really surprising.

I have not forgotten Trump's empty promises on that and many other things, like Mexico paying for his Wall gimmick. I'm certain health insurance and Medicare-For-All is going to be the main issue in 2020, or so it would seem.

It's a great benefit, having permanent health insurance. No hassle in moving from job to job, or if you you get laid off, like so many did in 2008. Myself having TRICARE as a military retiree meant I could save paying for health insurance through my employer. I put those savings into my 401k, IRAs and other savings.

I did take a supplemental TRICARE through my employer via payroll deduction until I retired from that career. Originally, my employer provided the supplemental TRICARE to me at no cost. Then, the GOP Congress took that away, and I had to pay full rate in after-tax funds through my employer. Later, after the Democratic Congress got the ACA through, I got to pay full rate for the supplemental coverage, but with pre-tax funds, like most people pay for their health insurance, etc.

/Remember that myth that Republicans care about military personnel and veterans?

Come to think of it, he promised they'd have something on that in about two weeks.  I must have missed that press conference, I guess.

It's Fox f*cking News.

That the audience wasn't sufficiently stacked in their favor enough tells me one thing, and one thing only - someone on the production team royally f*cked up.

As a matter of fact, yes.  I do, and anyone desperate intrigued enough to go on their network should be as well.  If Fox News told me it was 11:17pm and dark as f*ck where I am right now, I'd get verification from no less than seven independent sources.

It's 2019, and this is the world they helped create.  The only way I'll blindly trust anything on that network is if there's a three-second shot of Hannity taking a flashbang to the face right before a TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES sign fills the screen and the other networks start reporting on all the FBI trucks surrounding the studio.

His new line is that the GOP is the Party of Healthcare, and that the ACA replacement will come "after the election."
The Republicans responded with a collective "wait, what?"

Fox made the mistake of not packing the town hall with ringers similar to the Bush vs Gore recount rioters. Hell, even if they got caught red handed doing it, the conservative excuse nowadays would be to throw their hands up and say, Fake News.

Like I said when the ACA passed: My only issue was that it didn't go far enough. Screw the rent-seeking health insurance companies.

The main problem now is that the SC is so stacked to the right that we might be f*cked for a generation or two. And if you didn't vote for Hillary back in 2016 because you were too busy fantasizing about sucking Bernie's dick, go look in the mirror for a bit while wondering who the enemy is.

Notice the fancy camera work when the second question is asked? And mysteriously the room dims at the same time? Huh, weird. I also noticed that all of a sudden horrific screams now take the place of raised hands, cuz even through the video trickery, we could see that the hands that were raised for the first question were now down near the laps of those who were making jerk-off motions. It's too bad that the video cut off before Brett asked everyone about butterscotch pudding, and a brawl broke out.

Add on that lots of people are afraid to change jobs. Personally, while my work pays well for my area, I am mildly afraid to take a new job. I have daily meds that I can't afford out of pocket w/o my job.

So, I look for different work and I might be rolling the dice with my life expectancy.

BP meds, important. Anti-seizure meds, really important for driving purposes. Anti-depressants, important.

Except medicare for all will end up costing less overall for all Americans, not cost more. So you get more people access to care for less overall money. I fail to see the problem here for people that don't work for the insurance industry like the right wing\Clinton Democrats.

I know the whole "Everyone hates policies that mirror those in democratic socialist countries, ignore what the polls tell you" is a big thing on Fark, but it really wouldn't surprise me if the audience was filled with blue collar R voters.  Recent polls have had it as high as 50% of Republicans backing a move to Medicare for all.
